We're checking in to OKW Sunday, but for frequent flier reasons, we're arriving in Orlando Saturday night. In the past, we've always stayed at All Stars, but since we get into Orlando at 9:30 pm, DH said to go with just a good deal, either on or off site. So where has everyone stayed for that one night?

You are probably flying? If so, disreguard this suggestion!

We always drive and stay at Lake Mary (about 10 miles east of Orlando) at a La Quinta. Clean and pretty nice and reasonable.

No not rent a car and take Magic express(its for free to WDW) and pay for the allstar. You will save in the rental fee for the car.

I have read that the airport is a nice place and since your checkin date is on Sunday, you could stay at the airport on Saturday (MCO) and still use ME for free on Sunday if you forego the luggage service. OTOH, maybe there is a way for your luggage to be delivered/delayed so it arrives the same time you do.

I haven't done it lately but in the past, I did try Priceline.com and got very reasonable rates for one night in a La Quinta about 10 minutes from WDW. Of course, we did rent a car so that it was off-site didn't matter.

We stayed at the Country Suite hotel our last trip the day before checking in. It is right outside of Disney, located next to CrossRoads. You take a left at the lights as you exit Disney property, (crossroad shopping plaza is right across from you). Hotel is on the right about 200 yards. It was nice and resonably priced for only 1 day.

Over Thanksgiving, I screwed up a ressie (thought we stayed at Carr. Beach), but was off for 1 night! We had NO PLACE TO STAY!! They wanted to much for CB, so we went down I-drive, and stayed at the LaQuinta Inn (near Race Rock), for $47/nite with BREAKFAST INCLUDED!!! Did not think that was a bad price to pay. We just walked in, and said, sure we have rooms!

I forgot to mention that we will be renting a car. Dh brings his golf clubs and golfs almost every day, so it's much more convenient for us to have a rental car. That means that off-site wouldn't be a problem.

Last trip we did that (got in at 11:00), stayed at Embassy Suites - right by the airport. We rented a car, but I think they have a shuttle. Check online, it was less than $90, plus you get a full breakfast which would have cost the 5 of us $40+ elsewhere. If you've ever stayed at an Embassy Suites, you know what I'm talking about...

We've stayed at the Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, and Homewood Suites in LBV. I always check in a day or two after we arrive in Orlando since it saves us points and we usually arrive late since we fly from California.
