I have found in my search for a room that not all hotels have room for a family of 5. Does anyone have hotel ideas? With out spending a fortune? The last time a went to disney and planned a trip my youngest was a baby and could stay in a portacrib. When I planned a trip last time I was I happened to stumble on to a website that posted discount codes for hotels, I have not been able to find this website, does anybldy know what I am talking about? Thanks in advance with any help. Chris:dance3:

We are also a family of 5 and recently stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. The rooms in Alligator Bayou have two double beds and a pull-out trundle bed. We loved the resort. You can also check out the Family Suites at All Star Music. Have a great vacation! :goodvibes

We really like the Fort Wilderness Cabins. You get your own private cabin (less noise from neighbors), a bedroom with large bed and bunk beds, living area has a pull down Murphy bed, a grill and pic-nic table, and you have a full kitchen (we always eat breakfast in the cabins only).
There are moviespopcorn:: and a campfire sing-along, horses, pools, trails, and watercraft: to name a few.
We enjoyed the cabins so much last time and can't wait to go back:cool1: . We really don't like the "Hotel", "Motel" feel. The cabins are very homey. The thing is, you still get the "Disney" treatment.

27 days until Disney :cheer2: !

I have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside 4 times with my family of 5 and I really like this resort. The trundle matress is a little thin, but it's fine for a little one. The grounds are so pretty and relaxing.

Without staying at a Deluxe resort, really the only options are: one Moderate resort, like the previous posters have said - Port Orleans Riverside. Or the Family Suite at All Star Music (Value resort). Or you can get 2 connecting rooms at any Value resort, the real advantage to this is getting 4 beds, 2 tv's and 2 bathrooms, all for a fairly reasonable price!

Or maybe check off-site resorts if that is an option for you.

Good luck and have fun!!

I'd have to go with POR, we loved it there. My DS loved having the little bed all to himself. We got a code for the room, so It wasn't too expensive. The pool area is fun and the food at the resort was good too. The grounds are beautiful and the boat transporatation to DTD was something different and relaxing. All in all my favorite resort that isn't a deluxe, we would go back in a heart beat!

We go off-site and get a 1 bedroom condo. It works well for us. We used SkyAuction and got a Vacation Village condo. Even though noone would ever even know if you had more than the 4 max occupancy, I did ask if it was ok with a younger child. They said it was fine. They just didn't want 3 teens and 2 adults in there.

We are a family of 6 so I feel your pain. We generally either pay for 2 rooms or get a 2 room suite. We are going to DL this year instead of WDW and got a 2 room suite at the Homewood for a pretty good rate.

We stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside. It was nice- we had a bad experience though.

Our family finds that suites are the way to go. I'm very excited about trying out the all star music family suites.

We have stayed at Homewood Suites( now called Extended Stay) in Lake Buena Vista( two room suite, full kitchen, free breakfast for everyone.) This time we are staying in Hawthorn Suites in lake Buena Vista( also has a full kitchen, bedroom, living room area, free breakfast for all.) We are moments from Downtown Disney, it never took us longer then 10 minutes to get to the parks. Check into them.Tripadvisor puts customer reviews online to read about alot of places.:surfweb:

Good Luck,
Trisha :goodvibes

Thanks to all who replied and thanks for the good ideas. I booked at po riverside at a rate of $94.00 a night. I just hope the resort is nice and they have a neat pool. We stayed at the WL last time when my daughter was 2. It was very nice, we just do not want to be disappointed. When you pay what you pay in all for the trip, you do not want to be disappointed. Thank you! Chris:dance3: P.S. Mouseketer what was your bad experience?

You'll love POR. The pool is a ton of fun, with a slide and everything.

We've switched to doing 2 value rooms now that we have teenagers who are too big to share a bed or sleep on a trundle, so enjoy Port Orleans while you can!

I've seen pictures of POR's pool and it looks nice. And you can always use the pool at POFQ when staying at POR. POFQ's pool and slide are awesome!

Can I ask how you got such a good rate at POR?

Thanks again for the info. How long does it take to get to pofq pool from por? I recieved a post card in the mail with a code on it. It was for a value resort at $59.00 a night and I asked if it could be used for a moderate and the price was $94.00 a night. But when I asked about the luxary resorts I could only get the contempory for $247.00 a night which is too much for me.
Thanks again. Chris:dance3:

WOW, those are great rates!! Did you sign up somewhere to receive postcard offers? I've never received an offer that good!

The walk from POR to POFQ is probably less than 10 minutes. Or you can take the boat down the river!

I would snatch that up soooo fast.... actually I'd consider two value rooms at that price just as long as it was not during pop warner wk. Can you add on DDP or does using the discount void the option?

I am not sure what DDP means. We booked 7/6 days and nights, 5 park tickets with water and more and food for $2873.05. So you think this is a good deal? I still thought it was high, but it is Disney. thanks Chris:dance3:
