Hello! My daughters just asked about going to Disneyland in October this year so starting to research the idea. We were there in Nov last year but Halloween time is the best!

With college and highschool schedules we could only go Fri-Mon of Columbus Day weekend. I know it will be crazy! Which 3 days would you choose? Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon? We will be driving from AZ (6 hours) and can leave home after 11am on Thursday. We need to drive back Tues at the latest for school Wed.

Which hotel would you recommend for 6? It will be myself, husband, dd20, her boyfriend, dd17, and ds13. A suite with separate room or area would be ideal but open to options/ideas. We like walking distance or dedicated hotel shuttle.

Thanks!

I would arrive on Friday and get 4 day tickets so you can go to the parks on your arrival day plus Sat, Sun, Mon and leave on Monday.

We really enjoyed the Residence Inn on Katella/Harbor. One bedroom suite with 2 queens in the bedroom and a queen sofa bed in the living room. Has a full kitchen and buffet breakfast is included. Felt very clean and quiet. About a 10-12-minute walk to the Harbor entrance.

We really liked the suite at Desert Inn that has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. My husband and I stayed with my parents and daughter there and had plenty of room. The extra bathroom made it so worth it.

Since there's a boyfriend, I recommend going with a 2 bed, 2 bath suite if you insist on staying in one room rather than two. I think the Homewood Suites may have more 2 bed, 2 bath suites than the Residence Inn.

If you are on a budget and willing to do one bathroom, a few places have 2 queen beds in a separate room with a sofa bed in the living room. The Element would be my choice for this situation unless for some reason the Residence Inn comes out cheaper.

Desert Inn is right at the crosswalk, and probably your cheapest option. Their C2 family suite is available for $379 a night. That’s two connecting rooms, 2 bathrooms, and a little parlor/tv room entrance with an additional pull-out couch. If you consider that each individual room would be $140 a night, it’s a steal on Harbor. Warning: very basic hotel. The pool is tiny, indoors. If you just need a place to crash and shower, it’s good.
