I always knew that there was more going on in hotels than Joe Q. Public was aware of but this is truely disgusting. It's called "The Hidden Truth Behind Hotel Drinking Glasses" and it's about 4 minutes long. Let me know what you think.

I got an error message that my download speed was too slow to view the clip.
IF I use a hotel glass, I always wash it with soap & hot water. A friend's weekly housekeeper also worked at a local hotel. She told him they usually wipe the glasses with the same rag they wipe the rest of the room with.

Yep - I'll be washing my glass myself. I prefer those plastic, single-wrapped cups.

The coffeepots have always kinda skeeved me out - I wonder if anyone ever washes them, and if so, how?

My family stayed at a Hilton at Myrtle Beach back in the late 80's. The wrapped hotel glass had a crusty ring of milk.

My husband thinks I am crazy for washing ALLLLLLL the dishes and untensils in the DVC rooms in the dishwasher before anyone even touches them. Now I know that I am doing the right thing! That is absolutely disgusting!

I have a flight attendant friend and she told me don't ever drink out of the glasses. She said that she's seen maids 'wipe' the glasses with the same towels that they've been cleaning the bathrooms with. Gross...

I'm not the only one. It takes me quite a while to disinfect a room when we check in. Most hotel rooms repulse me.

As a former smoker, trust me, they are used as ashtrays. Particularly after a few adult beverages.

Hmmm...not sure why it's not working for you. Do you have dial-up? It's still working for me.

It's worse than you think. If only it were just the same rag that they used. Try the maid wearing the same gloves that she just wore cleaning the toilet.
