I'm by no means a Howard Johnson's expert but I believe the entertainment book rates are the cheapest...AAA quoted me a rate of $109 & $119 but with my entertainment rate the rate was $69 or $79.
I'm planning our trip too and looked into the HOJO rates for March (but the March Ent rates aren't available yet). However, here's the rate comparison for an NQQ3 room in bldg 1 facing hwy:
Ent rate is cheapest @ $59.
Disboard discount rate (use promo code LNDB) is next cheapest @ $101.
AAA discount is $109.
Perfect. How does one go about getting a 2011 Entertainment book? Is it specific to Orange County or can I use one from anywhere - I see them here in Boise all of the time.

You can use any entertainment book. What you actually need is the card that comes with the book. You can sometimes buy a card on Ebay (probably not for 2011 yet!) for a couple of bucks if you don't want to pay for the book too.

I have seen them for sale at Icon credit union before (fka Idahy) and I know some of the local schools have been selling the local book. It looks like you can get the rate from the local book, but I haven't checked it out. My mom arranged my upcoming trip and I don't think I even want to get in the middle of DD March GS troop trip
