Hotel Deposit?

When you book a Universal hotel - you put down a first night deposit like you do at Disney?

Yes, that is what they tell you. However, the last two times I have reserved, they never did charge my credit card for that one night. No problems with the reservation when I arrivied. I started a thread on that issue and found out that others were not charged either.
