Hi, don't know if this is of any use to anyone, but octopus.com have got a sale on hotel rooms, including Paris and some around dlrp.

Good for anyone staying off site.

Novotel Chateau De Maffliers

Is anyone familiar with this hotel? If so, how far is it from the center of Paris..such as attractions like the Eiffel Tower. If we take a bus or metro how long would it take?
Thanks!

The hotel looks beautiful but just glancing at the directions I think its possibly a bit far out to use as a base to explore Paris.
There is no metro mentioned which means its too far out to be on the line and doesnt mention RER either which means its not on an RER line.
It does mention a station nearby but Im not sure if there are trains from there directly into Central Paris - I would guess not as there is no mention of it as I assume they would say something like direct services to Paris or regular services to Paris if there was.
You are the opposite side of Paris to DLP as well so not even close to there.
There are trains from DLP to Paris which run every 5 mins and take approx 30-40 mins

You'd get a train from Gare du Nord to the nearest station - It's one of the suburban lines and is in zone 5 like DLP - Takes about 35 minutes and they run every half hour or so.

You'd then have to get a taxi from the station to the hotel.

People who stay out there are going to have a car as it's not practicable to travel like that twice a day.

Metros are only zone 1-2 which is Paris and the portes (doors) of Paris. Anything beyond that is RER (similiar to the metro but carry more passengers and have far great distances between each station) and the suburban trains which go from Paris through zones 1-5 and beyond the Ile de France region :goodvibes
