Hi we are a family of 3 looking for a nice hotel close to Universal that has shuttle service all day to the Park are there any hotels that you would suggest? If they also offer a shuttle to Sea World that would be a plus also.

Right across the entrance to Universal are a slew of hotels including a Holiday Inn Express- I'm sure they offer shuttles back and forth but I'm not sure about Sea World.

We like Hyatt Place. You could actually walk to the park from there and the rooms are very spacious. Very clean and have free breakfast.

unless something has changed since June there are a few hotels really close to universal

walking distance include a holiday inn that has mixed reviews and a doubletree also with mixed reviews there is a walgreens and TGI fridays right in the parking lot of the two and I think they both charge for parking

down the street about .5 mile or so (on windhover) is a group of three hotels, Hampton Inn, Windhaven and comfort or clarion inn (I think, can't remember that one) they share a free shuttle bus service to universal, disney and sea world. It is close enough that fit people could walk to us in about 15-25 minutes depending on traffic and lights, also these hotels are on the trolley line which goes to sea world and I-drive attractions, there is a few fast food places and a Carraba's on the corner with them

I stayed at the Hampton and liked it very much. I had a car so I didn't use the shuttle but I saw plenty of people who did. The hotel is clean, nicely appointed and has lots of free amenties that I like (internet, breakfast, fridge)

I will be returning to Orlando this summer and am probably going to stay there again

good luck with your hunting!

We've stayed at the Doubletree twice, once years back when it was a Hyatt (I think) and once last summer after we had checked out of the HRH and were drenched in a rainstorm and didn't feel like driving home. Both times the hotel has been fine, large rooms, small bathrooms, reasonable rate (AAA rate when I called from inside US/IOA), Even a Starbucks in the lobby.

The Hyatt is in that cluster of hotels straight across from UO and it is very nice. You don't pay for parking, you get a good free breakfast, free in-room wifi (as well as a "business center" with free-to-use computers) and Starbucks in the lobby too.

It's not the cheapest (but still reasonable at about $110/night) but it's the nicest hotel I've stayed at in Orlando (except the Grand Hyatt...which is in LBV) and I've stayed a quite a few.

You can walk to Universal from DoubleTree. It is about 15min walk. I walked over twice last month when I was there. During the afternoon walk (3pm), I saw a LOT (50+) geckos on the pedestrian walkway on Major Blvd. I felt like I was the frog in the Frogger game. Every few steps you see a gecko run pass you. I only saw a few when I walk over in the early morning around 8:30am. My mom was a little freaked out. I made it a game on the way over to CityWalk.

DoubleTree do offer free shuttle to Universal, SeaWorld, Aquatica, and whatever other theme parks around there. They utilize the SuperStar Shuttle Route A. But, boarding passes are very limited, so get them early. If your party is over 6 people, they don't allow you to use their shuttle. They match your party to the room reservation. So, if you do use them, get the passes the day before. Even if you don't get it, it's a short walk to Universal. And the return trip, you don't need a boarding pass. This route stops at Homeward, Hilton, DoubleTree and Four Points. They run 3 times in the morning and 3 times at night.

8:25AM is the first pick up at DoubleTree
5:20pm, 6:35pm, 7:20pm are the return time on this route.

The room is clean and spacious. They do charge for parking. They also charge for the in-room safe if you use it. So, if you don't want to pay that fee, don't close the safe door.

Nearby: Walgreens, Starbucks, Japanese restaurant, TGIF, Burger King, McDonalds, Italian restaurant, Golden Barrel...etc (lotz of choices)

Check out Cheapostay.com if you are interested. They have rooms for next week at $54 plus tax per night. Cheapostay does charge high fees, but they're still a steal compare to other websites. Don't forget to put in "WINTER15" for $15 off.

I can recommend the Four Points by Sheraton. It is within walking distance of Universal. We walked slowly each day each way and it took less than 30 minutes from the front door to Port of Entry at IoA. The shuttle service is the same provided to the other hotels along International Drive I believe and we did not try to use it.
