Since we are coming in from California we want to get the most out of our Ultimate Park Hoppers. The first day would be wasted on traveling unless...we go a day early and stay at a hotel and go early the next morning to our Disney Resort. Any advise? Any hotel close to the airport?

there is a Hyatt in the hotel and sometimes you can get bargin on it - less than $150.

there are several hotels close to the airport - but the Hyatt is the only one inside it. of course the other hotels are much cheaper.

We often fly in late and spend the first night near the airport, then the next AM pick up the rental car and head to the parks...I usually just bid on a 3* room on Priceline (they book at the Hyatt in the airport - rarely, or more often the Marriott, Holiday Inn Select or the Renaissence...all are fine and have free shuttles to/from the airport) they go for about $36 to 40/night plus tax and all are considerably more expensive if booked directly.

There is also an Embassy Suites near the airport that has a free shuttle and includes a full breakfast...it can be booked thru their website for about $100/night or sometimes a little less. We like Embassy Suites and this one is about standard for that chain. Not bad if you want to spend a little more. We usually opt for Priceline because we get in late, go to bed and then get up and leave the next AM. For us it is well worth the $40 or so not to lose a day of parks and Disney.

There is also a Sheraton Suites near the airport that is supposed to be OK for the $$, don't know as we have never stayed there.
Have a great trip.
