My family cant decide between 5/6 hotels. These are for a middle aged man and woman, a 4 year old girl, a 14 year old girl, and a 9 year old girl. Which one is nicer for our family?? BTW, we love animals and tropical things, and my mom likes old fashioned things or things from the victorian era.

The Grand Floridian
The Polynesion
The Contemporary
The Disney Swan/Dolphin
The animal kingdom lodge

If the swan/Dolphin, which one is better??

Thanks a lot

I would say either the Poly or the GF based on your family's ages and preferences.

At the GF, there are plenty of children's activites that the 4 and 9 year old would love, like the Adventures in Cooking, the Pirate Cruise or the Tea Party, even the Perfectly Princess Tea party. The water activities like the sprites and boats might be fun for the teenager. The two pools are great for everyone (there is a slide and waterfall on one...the other has a children's wading pool and jacuzzi nearby). The resort has lovely grounds, some decent shopping and great location and transportation options to MK. As you probaby know, it features a Victorian theme.

The Poly is next to the Grand Floridian and features tropical theming, also has two pools, one with a volcano slide that is popular. It also features various shops, has a more laid back feel, and offer access to the same water activities that the GF has, as they are both on Seven Seas Lagoon. Also, same great transportation options to MK, but the Poly is right next to the TTC, which makes it slightly more convenient for other parks, but not by much. The younger girls could easily get to the GF via monorail for GFs children's activities.

Hope this helps!

I have stayed at the GF and AKL. I absolutely LOVED  the GF!! I haven't stayed there for years, though, so my precise memories have faded a bit. I just remember the wonderful feeling you would always have entering that beautiful lobby. Our room was spotless and immaculately kept during our stay. You can't go wrong here, IMO. :goodvibes

We just returned from WDW. Our 1st night we stayed at the AKL. I thought this hotel was just awesome. It was very relaxing and soothing. A great way to begin our trip. I liked the AKL more than my DH or DS's (12 & 16). But I'm the animal lover in the family and I could have spent an entire day on our room balcony just watching the animals. This hotel was also immaculate. CM's were friendly and helpful. Even though I loved everything about this hotel, I would not want to stay there more than 2-3 nights. I think the quiet and restful aspects of it are fantastic, but I also like the Epcot or monorail resorts just because you feel more a part of WDW and closer to the action. :)

Hope some of this helps you out....Have a wonderful trip!!!! :earsboy:
