Only 15 days to go Yipee

I have booked the hotel cheyenne for 5 nights with the 25% dream passport discount i just have a couple of questions:

1 When i booked i was told that the room has 2 double beds, does anyone know is this correct, as all the reports i have read say 1 double bed + bunk beds.

2. Are any of the blocks better and can you request a particular block eg Billy the kid?

2. Are there ice machines in the corriodors?

3. What times are the breakfast slots? and what time is best?

4. What time do the characters appear in the lobby??

5. Where is the best place locally to get a few supplies, eg milk or bread? last time i tried to go to the supermarket, what a nightmare.

6. I have read a lot of people make sandwiches from breakfast (discretly of course) do people still do this at the GMF breakfasts?

Thanks for all your help

Hi Estelle,
i have been to the Cheyenne twice but a long time ago (1996 and 1999) so can just help you a (very) little.

1 When i booked i was told that the room has 2 double beds, does anyone know is this correct, as all the reports i have read say 1 double bed + bunk beds.

Both times we had 1 double bed and 1 bunk bed. On the official DLP site it says the bunk bed is ok for people up to 70 kilograms but when i booked no one told me that even if we are 4 adults :confused3 .

2. Are any of the blocks better and can you request a particular block eg Billy the kid?

Dont think you can ask for a special block but the rooms are all of the same kind. It's just a different view from the windows.

2. Are there ice machines in the corriodors?

Cant remember any ice machine in the corridors.

4. What time do the characters appear in the lobby??

Dont think there are characters there i didnt see any:confused3 .

Am sure the other will be more helpful, have a great time!!!

Some rooms have two beds - the bunk bed can become somewhat claustrophobic so if you don't need it, ask for a room with two beds

Personal preference. Some are closer to main building, others closer to the walkway to the parks, some have views. You can request at check in but for Cheyenne I don't think that it makes that much difference. My last room had a nice view overlooking the tipi village

2. Are there ice machines in the corriodors?

Never saw any - do they even have ice machines in European hotels?? I thought that ice is an American thing; all the times I have stayed in European hotels I never saw ice

3. What times are the breakfast slots? and what time is best?

Sometimes breakfast slots are already booked when you check in, and you will be given very early ie 7am or very late ie 10am. The breakfast here is much more uncivilized than at the Sequoia, etc - definitely a great way to view the different cultures and how they behave

4. What time do the characters appear in the lobby??

Don't know

5. Where is the best place locally to get a few supplies, eg milk or bread? last time i tried to go to the supermarket, what a nightmare.

Relay or other shop at the train station, if you don't want to go to the supermarket. There is a small supermarket at the train station and prices are reasonable

6. I have read a lot of people make sandwiches from breakfast (discretly of course) do people still do this at the GMF breakfasts?

I believe that this is frowned upon. At the Cheyenne a castmember was doling out one slice of meat/cheese per person and this was strictly rationed, I suspect to avoid people taking food for later. Frankly, I was disgusted by many people here, such as the kids who waited for a fresh basket of croissants, and dumped the entire basket out onto their tray at Mum's request  (and no, they weren't continental European, so every culture has rude people)

Relay has good prices - not sure on everything they have, but a small variety.

I saw characteres in nearly all the lobbies in the morning I did my photo walk. I was there in the late morning (between 10am and 11am).

I wouldn't take lunch meat from breakfast. (for many reasons, including the fact that it could make me sick!)

Yes there are Ice machines in every Disney hotel. In DLH, HNY, NPBC and SL they are on every floor but on Santa Fee and Cheyenne they are only in some buildings.

And may I ask you how much you have paid with your 25% reduction?

Thanks for all your help,

We paid for 2 adult and 2 children age 9 and age 5, £267.90 for 5 nights
