Which would you choose? I like the look of the themeing of Santa Fe better, but is Hotel Cheyenne a little nicer? Anyone who has stayed in both have pros or cons? What about their proximity to the parks? Are either walkable?

Also, how do you get to the Vallee Village from the hotels? I am thinking about going there on my arrival day.

Both hotels are just across the "river Rio Grande" from each other, only separated by a small footbridge. They are both around 20 minutes easy stroll through the Village and into the parks.

As to which is better - ooooh very difficult question for me as the Cheyenne is being refurbed as we speak. I prefer the Santa Fe, always have, as the rooms and reception block interiors are colourful and vibrant, whereas the Cheyenne is dark wood and leatherette. The external theme of the Cheyenne is amazing though, it really does look like a wild west town. If I could be guaranteed a refurbed room at the Cheyenne I'd stay there, but if not, I'd choose the Santa Fe.

Do you mean the Disney Village? Thats situated between the onsite hotels and the park entrances, so again, easily walkable in less than 15 minutes. The free shuttle buses from the onsite and offsite hotels also disembark right next to the Disney Village, and run all day and night, from around 6am until around 11.30pm.

It's been about 20 years since I stayed at Cheyenne, but I remember that we walked to the park and that it's a nice walk.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to ask when I call to reserve tomorrow about the refurb. Is it worth the extra $100 (total, not per night) to stay there vs the Kyriad? For the extra magic hours and proximity?

I meant the outlet mall that's supposedly close to Disneyland, that has the higher end stores. I think it's called La Vallée Village? Maybe?

Most definitely its worth paying the extra for either Cheyenne or Santa Fe compared to the Kyraid.

On my most recent trip Feb 2016, I got a "tour" of the hotels thanks to Magical Shuttle, which picked up / dropped off at all three. I would defiantly pick Santa Fe over Cheyenne.

When I was there they were starting the refurb at Cheyenne and I could see parts of the property were already being fenced off. The whole outside while yes is really well themed, just looked tired and worn.

The Kyraid is a partner hotel so you dont get access to EMH. It is located at the furthest end of Disney property. There is a side road where 4 of the partner hotels are located and the Kyraid is right at the end of this side road. This area is not walkable to the parks or Disney Village. There are free shuttle buses to the hotels but the buses are for all 4 hotels so can be very crowded.

Yes there is an outlet mall called La Vallee Village. It is near Val'dEurope which is about 15 minutes by bus or 1 stop on the train from Disney. The best thing would be to look it up on Google Maps. There are probably buses that go there but I am not sure which routes.

I have booked! I have chosen the Hotel Santa Fe, and I will be there May 10 - May 13! Thanks everyone for your help.

Awww lovely! We were pleasantly surprised! And you can pop over the river for a wander around Cheyenne if you wanted a nosy at the theme!
