hotel bus question

I thought the only way to get from hotel to hotel was to walk or take the water taxis, but now I see there is a bus system too - is this like disney's bus system? how does it work? what is the routes? how frequently do they run? anything else I should know about it?

One bus will take you to...in order...RPR...PBH...HRH...to USF.
Then you would walk to City Walk or IOA if you want to go there.
When we were there the week of Easter (just got back) The wait was about 30 minutes.

The water taxi was more frequent. It will drop you off at the City Walk. USF is to your right...IOA is to you left when you dock (is that the word I am looking for?)

HRH is the closest to USF. And RPR is the closest to IOA...it is about 10 minute walk. Not sure about HRH to USF.
