Hotel Booking Question

Okay...I've never booked a hotel room before and am a little confused on how they charge you. When you book at the HOJO do they go ahead and take the money out of your account right there when you order it? Or do they only take some and then take the rest after your stay? Thanks!

Use your credit card to guarantee your stay and it is applied to your card at the time of your stay....not when you book!

They don't charge your credit card until you check out, at HoJo.

Boo I was wishing they'd charge it so the money won't be sitting in my account but I guess this is a good time for me to learn how to save lol

We just got back from HOJO. We had a three night stay. They authorized the first two nights when we checked in and the third night was authorized on our second day. It just holds the funds in your account. They charge the full amount when you check out.

If you have a hard time saving, you could get one of those reloadable VISA cards and just put the money there so you aren't as likely to spend it. Then you could just switch the hotel to that card when you get there.
