So we've booked a hotel for September and since there is no ET rate available for the dates we'll be there we did some shopping around. We booked the Desert Inn and Suites for a GREAT price ($99/nt for a 4 queen+living area & 1.5 bath suite!!!!) Very excited to have a suite, since we have DS5 and DS2 and they will be ready for bed much earlier than us (plus Grandma may be joining us). Also excited about the quick walk to the park and the free breakfast. However, we've always stayed at HOJO's and loved our experience there. Just a little nervous that we will be let down. Can I get some input from others who have stayed at Desert Inn and Suites? Were you happy with this hotel? Or will we be kicking ourselves that we didn't shell out more money for our old standby....?

I can't help with the Desert Inn - but just wanted to say to keep checking for your dates w/Hojo, they add dates often and sometimes at the last minute. :thumbsup2

We booked three days at the desert inn for March 22, 23 and 24th for the same reason. Hope I don't regret it

I've stayed there twice and will be staying there again this weekend! I stayed in that same suite type back in August. I love the walk to the park! Piece of cake and very easy to go back for an afternoon nap. I have found the staff to be very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

Thank you for the info on the beds. Nice to hear that they are comfortable. It was great sleeping on the new mattresses at Hojo's this past October. So I won't fret over that anymore.

thats about all I need!

DI&S is our first choice when we can't get the EC rate at HOJO. I actually had both booked for this trip just in case since they were the same price.

We've stayed there and didn't have a problem at all. It was clean, no issues. Location is great and a free snack in the morning is perfect to get us to our 10am popcorn time.

We stayed there in 2005.....we found the beds pretty hard...but they may have changed them.

You can't ask for a better location....... and the viewing deck for watching fireworks is a nice bonus.

The place is not fancy, but we didn't spend a time in the motel. It was roomy with 3 adults, 3 older teens & a 3 yr old. The breakfast is great for grabbing something on your way out...but don't expect it to replace breakfast (if you're big breakfast people). The pool is small & inside.

The parking is a nightmare (during busy times)....especially if you're driving a larger vehicle.

Would we stay there again??? Yes...it was safe, clean & a place to sleep & shower. If you're looking for a good breakfast or lots of pool time...this place might not be what you're looking for.

We have also stayed here. It was a good room and very close to the DL crosswalk. We would definitely stay here again.

There's a number of people on these boards that seem to think that the Hojo's is the best hotel on Earth. It's not.

You'll have a great stay.

We stayed at the DI&S one time. I have to say it is deffinately not a fancy hotel by any means. I actually didnt like it much but it is very close to the park. Easy walk. The brekfast isnt great but its juice and bagels and stuff. The pool we didnt even get in because its very small and indoors. It was clean enough. But as someone said, when its busy the parking is rough.

Its certainly not a resort type place at all but if all your looking for is a place to crash after the park all day it will do fine. It felt safe and comfortable and clean.
