Just booked our hotel for our first family trip to Disneyland!:banana::banana:

We will be at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel & Suites. :) The room rate was in our sweet spot, and the majority of the reviews looked positive on every site I checked. I put a note for a ground floor and renovated room, but I will call at some point (soon-ish) to make sure the note got passed on to the actual reservation, since we booked from a third party site.

We found some good deals on plane tickets, at least good for our area - the catch being we have to drive 8 hours to the airport. But it saves us about $800 so I think it's worth it!

I'm hoping that the airfare and hotel will be the only major expenses since I am working on Swagbucks to try and get a majority of the tickets and food paid for. I can't wait to see Disneyland for the first time...and almost a whole year to wait! Anyone else looking at the beginning of December for a trip?

Our trip is in July (it's our first to DL too) but just wanted to say I can share in your excitement! I was so thrilled when I booked our hotel recently! Have a great trip! Hope we don't go too nuts waiting on our trips to get here!

I figure it gives me plenty of time to make shirts and buy little things for the boys (on sale!). Maybe that will keep me from going crazy waiting. :)

An 8 hour drive plus a flight isn't that bad. On our first trip to DL we drove from Kelowna British Columbia:drive:....we are going in March and are flying from Seattle which is much nicer than driving:thumbsup2

Hope that you have fun planning your trip and have a wonderful time!!!

Yeah to drive the whole thing is 24 hours, which with two little kids would turn into like 3 days! So 8 hours to the larger airport isn't bad. We have made the trip before (and will in the spring to visit the city) and it wasn't horrible. Our youngest being a little older will make it easier I hope, last time was a bit hard on him.

When the kids are older we want to make it a huge road trip - drive to DLR, hitting national parks and things on the way, camping as we go, then DLR for a couple days, then head back and hit more stuff. But we have a number of years before that's possible. :) Until then, lots of training trips camping and driving. ;)
