Hotel Best Suited to "Drive" an ECV to DLR??

We're planning to go to Disneyland in about a year, and I need to start looking for a hotel that hubby could just drive his ECV over to the park entrance.

An alternative would be a hotel that has an accessible shuttle, but that would be less desirable because we like going back to the room to rest.

We've been to WDW many times and use their bus system all the time with the ECV, but know NOTHING about Disneyland, and I want to get myself acquainted

The crosswalk over to the park is locate at the Best Wetsern Park Place Inn and Mini Suits. We just stayed here and it is super convenient but the sidewalks of the place are a bit narrow toward the front. Migh be a wee bit of a problem to negotiate depending on the size of his vehicle.
Going out in either direction from this location the following hotels are all fair to good places to stay and are a 5-7 minute walk to the parks.
The Tropicana (fair)
The Park Inn (good)
The Carousel Inn (good)
The Desert Inn and Suites (good)
The Best Western Anaheim Inn (fair)
The Fairfield Inn (Fair)
There two really good places that are at the farther sepctrum at 7-10 minutes to walk. The Howard Johnson has a large landscaped property with comfortable rooms and interior corridors.
The Cany Cane Inn is a small two story motel that is very nice looking with a good free breakfast though the rooms are a hair small.

Would you consider staying at the Grand Californian? (It would be the most convenient. )

I have taken my mom with her ECV to Candy Cane and Grand Californian.

We had a first level room at Candy Cane and it was plenty large for her ECV. She felt it was very convinient as there was no real major road to cross. The room we had had a VCR - so we brought her favorite tapes in case she got fatigued. (multiple health issues). That came in handy.

She liked Grand Californian, but the 2 different rooms we had were difficult to negotiate through the room doorway and past the maids and other people - followed by the elevators - mind you we did not get a handicap room.

She felt Candy Cane was the easiest to negotiate and she was clear that that would be the place she would like to stay next time.

She did not want to cross Harbor alone in her ECV - so we did not try the other hotels.

I took my 77yo mother to Disneyland last October, and she used an ECV. We stayed at the Carousel Inn and Suites and had a very positive experience there. It's quite close to the crosswalk, and the staff was so accomodating. Mom didn't like manuevering the ECV into our hotel room, so she asked and was readily given permission to park it in the lobby by the front desk each night. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the complimentary continental breakfast was quite extensive as such things go. We liked it so much that we've booked there already for this coming October!

The Grand Californian is out because with two grown boys over 6'2" we'll need two rooms, and since there is no All-Stars equivalent at DLR we'll have to stay nearby.

I've heard lots of good reviews about Candy Cane Inn, so it looks like that's what we'll do.

We'll also look into the Carousel and see what rates they have!
