Hotel benefits/its been a while

Have stayed at HRH three times and RPR once - but it has been a few years since we have been (pre-WWOHP). I was reading the On-site benefits blurb and its says on site guests can enter 1 hour before park opening. is that for both parks? And will the open the park exactly one hour ahead, or is it like WDW where it is more like 10-20 minutes before scheduled opening.

Also - way back in teh day, you could take a little shortcut form HRH to universal and cut out some fo the walk. But that last time we went, the gate was locked. It is still locked?

that path at hrh was locked in 2007/early 08.
it won't be opened again.

check the calendar to when the park opens.
onsite guests can enter one hour prior to that.

ioa has the early entry.
studios has the early entry for character breakfast guests.
but, i did read where they are doing the ee for others now.

for ioa, from experience of doing it, the earliest i have been able to enter, with using the hotel key, has been 4 minutes early.
that has been in october.

I just booked at PBH for Aug. 20-24 and was told that both parks now have early entry (due to the Dispicable Me attraction)

Is this the only attraction open for EE at The Studios you think? We are going August 19-24....Can't Wait!!!!!

i thought i read somewhere that shrek was open too.

a lot depends when you are going.


i'm guessing the 2 rides will be available when you go.

UO does change things around at times.
I usually read about it in the ap letters.
