Hotel Availability - ODD

So I am peeking around on the disneyland.com site (I know the prices there aren't the best to be had) and expedia, travelocity - basically just killing some time and looking around.
Well....I wanted to see how much the Par. Pier was for the dates I am looking at (Jan 2-7) and it says unavail, as is the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand Cal - and said the next best thing was the Sheraton.
BUT...according to expedia and travelocity - there are rooms available......
Then I was looking up the Park Place and expedia and disneyland.com say it is unavailable, but travelocity and the actual site for that hotel say it is available....

At first I was thinking 'what the heck is happening in disney that week to be so busy and sold out all the hotels?' - but now realizing it is something else...

Anyone know????

Anyone know of anything major going on that week? I thought it should be a quiet week to go.

My guess is that the 3rd party vendors still have rooms available that they get "blocked" for their exclusive use. While the DL packages have sold out.

It may be that they simply do not have the 2004 rates available yet. I have heard that people are having trouble with getting 2005 rates online.
