Just looking for some advice. We fly into MCO on a Friday night and catch the disney cruise transportation the next morning to the ship. Has anyone stayed at a hotel outside the airport (not the Hyatt) and then shuttled back to MCO the next morning to catch Disney transportation. It’s $300 for one night at the Hyatt, trying to find a more economical solution. Do area hotels offer free shuttles to and from the airport? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

We like to stay at WDW - All Star Sports. Take ME (free) from MCO to AS Sports. Then take DCL bus (not free) from AS Sports to PC then next morning. They transport all of the luggage in the morning and then we board the bus later (around lunch time). We get to the cruise terminal a little later, but there are no lines.

There are many hotels within 3 miles of MCO that offer the shuttle. Try searching for hotels close to MCO that offer the shuttle. Since you didn't include # of people and the exact date, I can't give you any rates.

What time does your flight come in Friday night? Just make sure you won't get to the hotel too late to get a good night sleep before embarkation morning. Look at how often the shuttles run, and figure as if you have to wait the maximum time, and see if you can live with that.

Depending on travel party (i.e. age of kids), it may be worth it to you to stay at the airport hyatt to get the extra sleep. Both the night before, and morning of, as you won't have to take a shuttle in the morning either.

I just reserved the Springhill Suites near the airport. We have 10 in our travel group so I was able to book 2 rooms with 5 people in each one. They offer a free shuttle (it says they are 2.2 miles from the airport) and also provide a free breakfast. Trip Advisor has them rated well and it looks like there are food options for dinner within walking distance. We cruise in January and I plan on opening a Marriott credit card before the end of September. Typically, if you spend around $3000 in 3 months you get at least 50,000 points (it depends on the offers available at the time). Most of the time there's a yearly $99 annual fee. I think right now they started a new offer for 50,000 points for a card with no annual fee. This hotel is 25,000 points per night so mine for 2 rooms will be 50,000 points. That would mean I would only pay the $99 annual fee to stay there. I had the card a few years ago and haven't been traveling much so I cancelled mine. It's a pretty nice deal. If you keep the card you get a free night yearly which basically negates the $99 annual charge.

My family has stayed at the Country Inn And Suites near MCO twice before a cruise, and it is good for a single night stay. It’s usually pretty cheap, has a free shuttle to/from the airport, and has free breakfast.

Just looking for some advice. We fly into MCO on a Friday night and catch the magical express the next morning to the ship.

I just want to clarify...the Magical Express does not go to Port Canaveral. It goes to Disney’s resorts at WDW. They won’t let you board a ME bus without a Disney resort reservation, so there’s no chance of you accidentally going to the wrong place, but I don’t want you to waste time going to the ME boarding area.

You’ll want to board a Disney Cruise Line bus at the airport.

We've stayed at few times at the Embassy Suites MCO. Free airport shuttle and a nice, clean hotel

Hi, we stayed near the airport at the Residence Inn by Marriott. Nice hotel with free shuttle. One plus is it walking distance to a Walgreens and some restaurants.

I edited my post to correct my mistake in wording.

I've stayed at the Hamton Inn Gateway and the Hyatt Place and would recommend both. Both offered a shuttle to/from the airport and were significantly cheaper than the Hyatt MCO. Both also include breakfast.

Have you called DCL to see if they can get you a better rate at the MCO Hyatt? I’ve seen people post that DCL has come up with good rates at times.

I’ve stayed there for work - it was lovely.

We have stayed at the SpringHill Suites at MCO several times. It’s a great hotel, especially for 5 (the rooms have 2 queens and a couch bed with a trundle). The free breakfast is just right the morning of a cruise. Free airport shuttle, too.

We stay at the Airport Fairfield by Marriott. Free shuttle to and from MCO, free breakfast, reasonable price, walking distance to restaurants, etc. Staying there again this September.
