Hotel / Appartment etc advice

Hi,

I've been given the task of planning a holiday to Disneyland and california.

Has anyone got any good ideas for accomadation ?

Location not too important
Needs to sleep 8
Kitchen would be usefull.

Some sort of rental house would be good, or appartment / suite etc.

Price is quite important.

Hope you can help as this is our first visit to the USA only park we've been to is Disneyland Paris

This is only from my research. I haven't been yet.

There are 2 Residence Inns in the area that have separate bedrooms, and sofabeds, and full kitchens. I'm sure you could find accommodations for your size. They also have free hot breakfasts.

One Residence Inn is on Clementine -- Residence Inn Maingate. There are photos in Mary Jos sticky at the top of the board.

Both would not be walking distance.

For walking distance, and cheaper rates (less amneties), try looking at Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites. They have rooms with 4 Queens.

I disagree with AMW. We stayed at the one on Clementine last August and walked numerous times to the park..about 15 minutes. The walk is pleasent. What I have found out that is most folks do not to walk the distance when they feel they have walked too much in the park. Nice to get away from the crowds. Sometimes much easier to do then wait for ART. We easily sept 6 in the penthouse and it could accomdate more. Full kitchen and two bathrooms were nice. They have free grocery shopping(give them a list the night before and it will be there by noon the next day.) We had a very nice stay.

Hi Jack,

Like I said, I'm just doing research right now Is the walk doable for young kids? My DDs will be 7 and 5 when we go. We are used to walking, but everyone else on the boards seem to say only the hotels across on Harbour are walkable. Some posters even say the HOJO is too far to walk. How much further would it be? (I know it's in the opposite direction.)

We need to have separate sleeping quarters for the kids. We've tried sharing a room before, and it's no vacation!

So far, I 've limited my choices down to Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites or Park Vue due to proximity. But, I'm a little weary of their "quality." I've always liked Residence Inns. Is this one up to par?

The loft has a king bed and bathroom, tv..the room downstairs has a bunk bed with double on the bottom and twin on top, the living room has a queen sleeper , fireplace. Complete full kitchen with the necessaries. The walk maybe a bit much for a 5yo if they are tired. Since we were traveling 1200+ miles we had two twin airbeds which we did not use.
The breakfast was always plentiful..suasage, eggs, cereal of all types, juices, rolls, etc. Managers special Tues, Wed, Thurs. All in all a very nice RI.

If distance is not an issue- about 5 minutes away is a new place called the lemon tree. They offer a variety of rooms including apartments.

Also- Staybridge suites is a good one. We stayed at the Hawthorn Suites one time. They did have a free shuttle, but you need to let them know 30 min ahead when you want to be picked up. Both of the hotels have a Hot breakfast and kitchenettes.

A friend of mine stayed at the Staybridge Suites and really liked it. There were 7 in their family.

I've stayed at the Desert Inn Suites linked in a post above. Nice hotel. I was in a small suite for 5, but I did get to see their large suite - full kitchen, free breakfast, walking distance from the park.
