Hotel advice

Hi guys looks for some advice from seasoned universal visitors.

I'm going to be booking a surprise trip for my hubby's 40th in October for 10 days ... We are coming from Ireland so 10 days seemed like a good length. It will be myself, my brother, my hubby and our 9 year old daughter when will be closer to 10 in October. However I'm looking for a good on site hotel for kids and adults a like.

I don't mind spending a little extra cash for club level or the likes ... Just wasn't sure which would be a good all rounder.

My hubby loves coasters which is my brother is coming as back up ... I enjoy most of them and I'm sure my 9 year old will give them her best shot ...

The two lads will be doing the HHN but us girls will give it a miss as my daughter is too young and I'm a wuss..

Any help planning this special trip would be totally appreciated.

I've only stayed at the Hard Rock and the Royal Pacific. They are both wonderful hotels, but the Hard Rock really seems more adult in my opinion. So, I would recommend the Royal Pacific.

Also, if you are planning on going to the parks more than 4 days, then you should invest in an annual pass for at least one in your party to get the hotel discounts. A 4 day park-to-park ticket is about the same price as an annual pass.

And when the guys are at HHN, you and your daughter should head over to Disney's Halloween party.

I personally, if money were no object, would go for Portofino. I might even spring for Club level.

And during HHN if you don't care to go to WDW's Halloween event, you can swim or wander or go play minigolf at Citywalk, etc etc.
