Hotel Advice

We are planning on going to DL this friday night to saturday. So only 1 night (we only live an hour away)

We've only ever stayed at The Disney hotels, Hojos and Tropicana (which we didn't like) and there have only ever been 3 of us.

This time there will be 5 of us. Me, my mom, my dad, my brother and his fiance. So we've been looking at 2 room suites or getting 2 rooms. We don't care if we have to drive to the parks, walking distance, etc. We just want to go...lol.

So I need opinions on some of these hotels:
Sheraton Anaheim: 2 rooms - $280
Marriott Suites: 1bdrm 2rm suite - $165
Marriott: 2 rooms - $266
Hilton: 2 rooms - $245
Residence Inn: 1 bdrm 2rm suite - $190

All fall within our budget however, obviously the cheaper the better. The Marriott Suites appeals to us teh most because it is a marriott (we have never been disappointed with a marriot before) and it is the cheapest.

Has anyone stayed there before? What about the other hotels?

I'd choose the Residence Inn.

The others will charge you for parking. Then you will either use a nothing better than ok shuttle or drive to a parking lot and pay again. It also gets good reviews from people who needed suite or multi bedrooms.

I just did a "Name your own price" at Priceline for $50.00 for one night and got the Marriott Suites. The wife and I stayed there last year and loved it. If you felt like rolling the dice, you could bid on two rooms at that price and have a decent chance of drawing the Marriott Suites. Both times that I have Pricelined a room for that area that's what I got.

I stayed at the Hilton in August. We almost always stay within that hotel chain as they have very comfy beds. They also have a starbucks inside.

I believe the Residence Inn charges for parking now, around $12???

We stay at the Residence Inns (there are 2 in the area) or Homewood Suites (a Hilton property) whenever we go. Embassy Suites may be up your alley too. All charge for parking from $12-15 a night, something to consider. We like the free breakfast buffet at the RI's and Homewood. Homewood has its own dedicated shuttle, so you don't have to bother with the ART or driving.

I would try Price Line though. You definitely save a bundle that way and get your own separate rooms. With a one bedroom "suite" 2 will be on the sofa bed and it really doesn't accommodate an adult very comfortably, much less two.

I didnt see the Embassy suites south on there, a usual room goes for about $135-150, they have two bedrooms and a pull out couch, they also have free parking, free breakfast, and free Managers reception AKA. Free alcohol. they are right on harbor and the buses stop there too.

at Residence Inns and Homewood, they only offer the Manager's Reception and free alcohol (at Homewood) Monday - Thursday nights. What nights does Embassy offer it?

I don't think Embassy is on Priceline, that I've heard.
