Hote/Motel Tipping

When you stay at lower end hotels and motels (Super 8) for example, for more than one day, and the cleaning staff actually do come in and keep the place clean, what sort of tip would you leave behind?

I'm not certain, as any time I've tipped, it's been a nicer hotel.

What do you think is a good tip percent? Does it differ where you stay?

I tip a five dollars everyday because it may not be the same person who cleans your room everyday. I know a lot of people don't tip at hotels at all, but for me I think people who clean rooms work very hard, so I appreciate their service.

I always leave a note making sure they know it is for them and telling them 'thanks'.

$5 per day ..... that's what i do.

I leave $5.00 every single day, no matter how much or little I've paid for a room. I also leave the room as tidy as possible.
