HotDog "Juice"

Hot dog juice.

Is that what we are calling it now?:lmao:

This is not only slightly disgusting but actually dangerous. Products like Hot dogs carry the bacteria Listeria momocytogenes.
Listeria is naturally found in soil, water, and plants. Unlike other types of bacteria, it grows in cool, moist environments. It is commonly associated with ready-to-eat products, such as deli meats, hotdogs, and soft cheeses.

MOst common symptoms can be nausea, severe cramping, and can be especially dangerous to pregnant women.

So we shouldn't eat deli meats, hotdogs and soft cheeses anymore then:confused3

Fora a healthy person I don't think it is much of a danger but I know when my godson was having his cancer treatments we were told that he could absolutly have no cold cuts until his immune system was built back up.

I either dump it down the sink or give it to whichever dog is staring longingly at it.

Drinking it? :scared1: I got a little nauseous just thinking about it.

Note to self: Do not, under any circumstance, open a thread titled HotDog "Juice" at 6:50 in the morning... especially when you are already not feeling so well :o

Oh brother.

I guess all of us who grew up eating raw hot dogs just barely made it into adulthood. Guess we were lucky.

I'm not even pregnant and I'm feeling a little "morning sickness" after reading this!;)

I loved raw hot dogs growing up, I would never eat one raw now. Sometimes even the smell of raw hot dogs grosses me out. I do eat them cooked though.

Every time I see this thread title I gag.

There was a show that was on the Food Network for a while called "Ham on the Street." There was an episode where he was on a busy city street with a giant pot of different kinds of hot dogs. He would stop people and pick out a hot dog. If they didn't correctly guess what kind of meat it was made from, they had to do a shot of the water from the pot.

It was nauseating and entertaining.

OP, get your butt back here and defend your love of the hot dog juice. Don't be hatin, people....he has a right to do gross things and share them with us:rotfl: I'm thinking maybe with a twist of lime it might not be so bad:confused3 :lmao:

Listeria is not always on the meat or cheeses however there is a possibility it could happen.

It is not just deli meat but all meats that are processed and refridgerated, like baloney etc...

So yes drinking "hot dog juice" :scared: is not smart from a health standpoint, it could make you sick.

At the same token if you are not boiling your hotdogs, it is not safe to eat either if there was Listeria on it.
You MUST boil them to kill Listeria.

I went to sleep.

The responses are funny. The juice comes out of the hot dog, so every time you eat a hotdog, you get some juice. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I gagged a little bit when I read that.
