Hot Wire Saving Club Questions?????

Hi all,
I just signed up for the Hot Wire Savings Club and I am very excited to start buying some gift cards and Q&C vouchers. I do have some questions that I hope you wonderful people could help me with.

1. Do they charge shipping when you buy giftcards?

2. Do they have limits as to how many you can purchase? I do know Olive Garden does and also the Q&C vouchers but what about a place like Target or Macy's?

3. If I cancel the program, can I restart fresh in another few months if I decide I need more gift cards? What I mean is I see that some things like the Q&C do have a limit so what if I bought a bunch for some friends now, cancelled and then when it is closer to my trip start fresh and buy my quota for that new use year???? Does this make sense??? If I am stuck in this use year I won't be able to get some for my friends who are going to WDW soon. I guess they could sign up too?

4. When do the Q&C vouchers they are issuing now expire? My trip is in Oct. 2004 and if I decide to buy a few for myself now I don't want them to expire! I would be bummed!

5. Here's the BIG question guys......What restaraunts are the best bargains? How can I get the most for my money? Are the child Q&C's worth it or are the adults a better deal? Do you split the entree between 2 people?

I just don't want to waste them! I LOVE to get a deal!

I just signed up to hotwire savings club too!! Just ordered hopper passes and meal vouchers!! Bumping this because I have some of the same questions! but I can answer a few of the questions!!

They don't charge shipping on any giftcards or meal vouchers or passes!!

They do have a limit on gift cards but not sure on how many!

They do not have a childs Q & C. The Q & C is the same for adult or child. The BV(breakfast voucher) child is 11.00 and I think it's a little savings only if your going to a character breakfast that costs more then that. but remember it includes tax and tip! I bought the adult breakfast vouchers and they were 17.75 each and the breakfast would total 20.51 each(w/ tax and 15% tip) saving me 2.76 each x 4 for each breakfast!! I have two character breakfast planned at a savings of $22.08!!
I also bought the VKL (vacation lunch vouchers) adult 30.50 each and child 12.75. (I have read that kids can order off the adult menu w/ the child voucher but can't confirm)I plan to use them at the Rainforest at AK because you can use them for dinner (same menu). We plan to share. I've read lots on these boards about people sharing. I don't think its a problem at all!

the meal vouchers they are sending out now do expire in May 2004.

Restaurants that are 'bargains'. Beaches and Cream and Pepper Market for the Q and C, AK RFC for the VKL vouchers. In the past, kids have been able to order off of the adult menu at RFC and you get a ton of food. They can change that policy at any time. Make sure you get a ps.

there is a limit on gift cards. I think it is 15 per year.

Another good deal are the movie passes. They are sold for $4.50, but you get 90 cents back for each one, making them $3.60

I don't know if you can cancel and rejoin. I would like to know that too. Maybe if you cancel Hotwire, you can rejoin under Connections??

I can answer a few of your questions.

The limit on gift cards is 16 - $400 worth. I bought all 16 for Target and it says that I have reached my maximum yearly limit. For restaurants it looks like the max is $150 worth.
There are no shipping charges on anything I have purchased and they always have sent things out quickly. The only catch is it seems to take a few weeks for the refund to post so you will probably need to pay at least one months service fee to get your credit.

You can join both Hotwire and Connections because I did before I realized that they were the same. I canceled Connections without buying anything since I had ordered from Hotwire. Im not sure if they would have had any issues with my ordering from both since I never tried it.

I have really been happy with the Hotwire Savings Club. I am using it for a lot of my Christmas shopping and have saved a ton. The restaurant gift certificates are in $10 increments so they make good teacher gifts. I also bought my 4 Day Park Hopper Plus passes and Q&C vouchers. I have saved over $125 and that includes paying 2 months service fee.

how quickly do they ship stuff out? We are going to be getting APs for our trip at the end of the month buy my parents will need park hoppers. They had the best price I've found but I'm worried we wouldn't get them in time.

If you buy a gift card, do you have to actually use the gift card before you get the refund?? I was not sure by the description on the site. Such as, if you give a gift card, does the person have to use the card before you will get the refund, what if they don't use it for awhile and you let your membership go in the meantime?

you don't have to use the voucher to get the credit. The credit shows up on your credit card some time after you purchase them.
