Hot WII Games this year?

Would like to pick up a couple of Wii games for my sons this year for Christmas and really have no idea what is good/hot right now.

Anyone have some recommendations on some fun games that have been released this year? They have a lot of games from previous years already.

I'm not expert, we just got the Wii a little over a week ago and neither of my kids are old enough to play most games, but I can tell you the games I can't wait to get!! Super Mario Brother's (released today), Zelda, Animal Crossing and Sports Resort.

Just a head's up... Walmart.com has some Wii games on sale 2 for $30. I got my son a couple of games and shipping only came to $1. $31 for two Wii games is pretty cheap! And there were some decent games to choose from too!

We have a lot of the Wii games, too - from the past couple of years. This year I'm only addding Toy Story Mania and Hasbro Family Fun Night. My girls are older but they still play Wii games when they are home together so TSM will be a big hit!

How old are your sons? There is a new Star Wars Clone Wars game, a new Lego Indiana Jones game and a new Bakugan for Wii - these are the ones my boys want.

I'm going to look into the Super Mario one... Lego Star Wars would be a big hit. Toy Story Mania? You mean like the attraction at Disney? Bakugan looks interesting since my 12 yo plays that game with actual bakugans...

We liked the first Mario and Sonic at the Oympics so we had to buy the Winter Olympics version when it came out a few weeks ago. It is a lot of fun.

The Winter Olympics was just released. The original Mario and Sonic at the Olympics was released with the summer games in China in 2008. It has track and field events, swimming, gymnastics, etc.. The Winter version is with Vancouver and includes skiing, snowboarding, figure skating, etc..

Both are very good family games imho.

Got Toy Story Mania for the twin's birthday a few weeks ago. We love it. It is sooo much fun. Its just like the attraction. We also have Mario Winter Olympics . Thats a load of fun too. If you don't have it one of the best Wii games is Mario Kart with the wheels. We have tournaments all the time.

Toys R Us has the good deal where you get $20 off one game if you buy two - one of them has to be at least $39. Today I bought the new Mario Bros one ($49) and the one from Up($29) and I got the $20 off - good deal!

My husband and son are playing Lego Rock Band right now and it is great. We have Guitar Hero not Rock Band but the GH guitars work with it. As a mom I like this one so moch better than GH because the graphics are a little crazy (I know it is rated T for Teen). They are liking it a lot.

We are picking up the new Super Mario and Lego Indiana Jones 2 this week. We also got Mario & Sonic Winter Games.

I can handle Animal Crossing. In fact...we are addicted to it. My son and I play it all the time (except the past couple weeks and we are paying for it dearly.) Once you get that one, be sure to post on the Animal Crossing City Folk thread!!! There are lots of great people on the boards that play!!!

we bought the super mario one yesterday and have been playing it off an on.

Its a hoot and we just love it. Well worth the 50 dollars.

No kids here though , we are older adults

The game doesn't do split screen , so when you pick a character you all run and
jump , and fall all over each other going thru the worlds.
