Hot weather Halloween Costumes

We did the party a few years ago, when my dd turned 13. She and her friend wore princess dresses...kind of funny to see those children's size princess dresses, Ariel and Aurora, on girls that were 5'5" tall...the dresses came to their knees...good thing they were both super skinny. Anyway...I dressed up as Malificent. Good thing it was chilly...we werer there on Oct 23 or so. Otherwise, we would have melted.
Going again, on Sept 5...no full costumes this time around. Maybe special teeshirts and hats. But that's it. It will be brutally hot and humid, even in the evening. I do love the melted snowman idea though!!

It was actually chilly on October 23rd? :faint: We're attending MNSSHP on the Oct. 28th and I chose a costume based on it being humid and warm, no?

Sometimes it's chilly ... but more often than not, it's still pretty humid down here. I think there was one Halloween where my mom contemplated us having to wear jackets with our costumes.

On the fast paint idea the OP was talking about. I painted my daughter's face last year for MNSSHP and it melted off before we even got to the park. We were there either in late September/Early October. We didn't even bother painting her face for Halloween at home.

Also, my sister *who's ten* was Princess Leia (I have never seen the movies, so I don't know if that's spelt right) Anyways, she was HOT and complaining during the beginning of MNSSP. I don't know if the Pochantas costume she convinced my mom to buy was any cooler ... but I was about to strangle the child. I thought Princess Leia would be a cooler costume. Never heard a peep out of my daughter, and she was wearing a long sleeve/long pants JoJo costume ... go figure.

I'm worried about DS getting too warm. We're going to the party Sept 30. DD will be Lilo so I'm not worried about her but DS is going to be Stitch. DH is going to be Elvis and DMIL and I are going to just be Hawaiian tourists. So out of all of us, DH might get hot but he can handle it. It's DS in that big fuzzy costume that has me concerned.
