Hot, Hot, Hot...

Hi again!! We leave in 10 days!!!! whoot whoot!! soooo excited, but again never having been to USO/IOA i am concenred about the heat. Are there plenty of places to cool down that have shade to sit in or that are air conditioned?
I am worried about everyone getting over heated while a the parks. We are staying offsite in a rental home so won't be right there to go back to hotel to cool off.

Pretty much any shop you can ( and will want to ) hop into will have the AC on full blast. There's also a couple of spots in each of the areas that has a little water/mist element to it that can cool you down if you're fine with getting wet.

It's only unbearable if you don't give yourself a break and walk top-speed everywhere.

Loads of places to cool down.

All the stores will have AC blasting you, mister fans around in certain areas and the restaurants especially Mythos are all very cool.

Don`t rush around and drink plenty of water, you`ll have a fantastic time

Go to walmart and get an 02 Cool personal mister fan the little one not the spray bottle. They work great

Good idea...just remember you have to carry those around with you.

Our first trip with the boys was in August (years ago) and they were 4 and 6 years old at the time. It was HOT!!!! We dressed them in bathing suits and t-shirts and kept a spare in a backpack. They hit all of the water features throughout both parks and then would change. By the time they were done, the other bathing suit and t was dry. They loved it!!!!!

They spent at least an hour or so running through the fire hydrant in NY. We even had strangers with very large professional cameras ask to take pics of them. My parents got a kick out of it because that is how they kept cool as little kids in the 50's. Do they still turn that on? It looked different the last time we were there.

I haven't seen the hydrant turned on in a few years...I had forgotten about that. Maybe if its really, really hot it might be turned on.

Oh that would be great! Our first trip to WDW our girls were all under 5. One of the best parts of that trip was at DTD where they have the water that sprays up from the sidewalk (? not sure what that's called ?) We probably spent a good hour or even two just watching them run thru there, jumping the water, etc. They had a blast.

On our last trip to Disney, the boys were 10 and 12 and still splashing in that fountain at DTD!

There seem to be more areas to get wet at US/IOA than Disney. They loved playing in the water at the curious George area and Seussville, too.
