Hot dogs.. What do you like on them?

Ketchup, a dill pickle spear, and raw chopped Vidalia onion. And the best place to have them is Ted's in West Seneca, NY. But I haven't been there in 15 years.

Awww, I'd send you some if I could! Ted's is all over the place these days and my parents usually go once a week or so.

I'm not a huge hot dog fan. I usually only eat them at the ball park. I prefer them with nice melty cheese.

They used to have this vidalia onion sauce at the ball park, but I don't think they have it any more. It was delish.

Is this the sauce?

Chili & cheese would be my first choice, most of the rest of the choices here would work for me too. I probably have a hot dog jones about once or twice a year.:)

I wish they'd come down here. I LOVE Ted's dogs. I remember going on Saturdays for lunch and the line was out the door, but it was worth the wait. :thumbsup2

It depends on my mood. Sometimes, I'll take mustard, onions and chili. Sometimes, I will take mustard and relish, and if I'm feeling really fiesty, I'll take mustard and sourkrut

Ketchup or cheese. No onions, sauerkraut, relish, chili or musturd thank you. Blech!

I know that a lot of people like New York dogs, but I am in California so I go for Pink's in L.A...they have Hoffy dogs that have a little snap to them.

My kids and I like Stouffers mac and cheese on a grilled hot dog it is so GOOD

I like Miracle Whip, but on hotdogs? :scared: Give me lots of raw onions, mustard and relish.
I figured that would gross more people out than just one. Yeah, I know I'm weird. :rotfl:

At home mustard and ketchup.

At James Coney Island chili, cheese sauce and mustard. OMG! YUMMY!

Chili and cheese.

There's a hot dog place in my town that makes this awesome hot dog with jalapenos, tomatoes, and onions. I want one right now.

Catsup, Miracle Whip, and cheese.

mustard, ketchup and slaw

Interesting! Might just have to try these sometime.. :)

Sorry, C.Ann, I'm not meaning to hijack your thread! I love to see everyone's choice of toppings!
I think the hot dog topping theory is meant more for men, so I retract my mustard liking statement, but according to Jillian Harris, a bachelorette from this past season of Bachelor:

Only ONE topping for the theory is allowed (sorry uuaw, you'll have to pick ONE!)
Ketsup means you are an all-American non-risk taking kind of guy
Sauerkraut means you are the bad boy all women think they want
Onions mean you're not the marrying kind of guy
Chilicheese means you are a risk taker and want the best of both worlds
Mustard means the kind of guy all women want (no explanation really!)

I really don't know where people come up with these kinds of things!
I do love the way people eat their hot dogs differently in different regions of the country!
Now I am really craving hot dogs! Yum!:lovestruc

No problem.. That was actually interesting to read..:)

Another interesting choice.. :)

Looks like I might have to expand my horizons - throw all caution to the winds - and try some of these combos..:thumbsup2

Michigan Sauce. For those of you who don't know it's a spicy finely ground meat sauce similar to chilli without the beans.

Most often, just ketchup. If I'm in the mood for something different, I'll add a dab of yellow mustard. If I really want to go crazy, I'll skip all those and just go for a cheese dog. I haven't had one of those in ages, but I could go for one right now!

Okay, I'm hungry for a good hot dog now. I like hot dogs 3 different ways:

1) Cheese and tomato

2) Ketchup and pickle relish

3) Bavarian Sauerkraut (after being cooked in it)
