hot dog and hamburger buns

Ha! We just got back and at burgers three times in three different locations. I never even noticed that they were wheat buns.

They should definitely provide a choice. My son is very allergic to whole wheat however, processed or enriched wheat does not cause near the problem as the whole grain. Since we were unable to determine the true nature of the grain, we did not let him have any of the buns on our last trip just to be safe. Besides that, I would appreciate the option since I am also sensitive to whole wheat like the OP.

I wouldn't mind the wheat buns if there were a purpose to them, but there isnt that are enriched wheat buns, and they still contain HFCS so what is the point they are no healthier, than plain white.

Wow! You all are sure passionate about your buns. :rotfl2:

I was there this weekend and had the multi bun on the chili cheese dog at Cosmic Rays, DH had the burger. To be honest, I didn't even notice until half way through and then only b/c I had read about it here. DH didn't mind and typically he detests my nutty, whole grain Nature's own at home. To be fair, it's a very, very light wheat and it was just as squishy and soft.

Hmm squishy and soft buns.......:lmao:

Sorry I couldn't resist!

I hate wheat bread...... :(

Hopefully some of those that say you really can't tell are correct.

Still seems like a stupid thing to force on people.

I think it's only the fast food places that have gone to whole wheat buns. My son had cheeseburgers at Grand Floridian Cafe and The Plaza during our May trip and the buns appeared to be the same as have always been served at those two places. Ditto with B&C.

As for the wheat ones, my daughter had one somewhere this trip and actually preferred the taste and texture to the old buns.:thumbsup2

My DH had a hot dog from Casey's and was complaining because he thought it seemed smaller. I asked him if the bun was as good as always and he replied that it was. I told him that it was now whole wheat and he looked at it and made a face.:rotfl2: It was so funny.

They are very light in color...most people probably won't even notice that they're different.

Does anyone have a picture of these new buns? I was recently at Disneyland and ordered a hamburger from Tomorrowland Terrace
and it was one of the worst burgers I've ever had! :confused3 I don't usually get a burger at DL but decided to try one for a change. It wasn't only the bun that I hated, but the meat itself was horrible. I'm sure there was some sort of filler being used-it certainly was all meat. And the bun was dry and just fell apart! :sad2:

The next time I want a burger at DLR (and it'll be awhile) I'll get one at Burger Invasion at DCA (McDonalds-good soft buns! :goodvibes

I know this thread is about WDW but I'm just wondering if they are the same buns? I certainly hope not.

Here's a picture of the ones served at DLR-are they the same?

They certainly didn't seem to be wheat or whole grain-just white and dry! Yuck!! Looks so much better than it tastes.
