DH brought home peppermint schnapps last night and added a splash to our hot chocolate. This is now my official drink of winter! :drinking1

I remember once when my grandmother made me some hot chocolate on a cold winter's day. She asked if I wanted some schnapps in it. Why yes, Granny, that would be delightful. Then she remembered I was 12.

A friend ordered it at a restaurant about a month ago. I have never tasted something so yummy! Maybe I will pick some up for the weekend.

Unfortunately, yes. We're a bit behind the times it seems.

I did ask DH if it would be inappropriate to fill my mug in the morning for the drive to DD's school. I could seriously drink nothing but this and be just fine. :rotfl:

DD7 is so bummed because she can't have any. We ended up buying some peppermint extract to spike her's with. Same taste but without the conviction for providing alcohol to minors and endangering my child.

Do pick some up. It will make your weekend! :thumbsup2

Well, waaaayyyyyy back in 1981, I was on the Greyhound Bus headed home from college for Christmas break. One of my travel mates made some hot chocolate and peppermint schnappes and put it in a thermos. To this day, I can never drink that stuff because she made it soooo strong, I thought I was going to be sick.

This is our traditional Halloween (trick or treating) drink for the adults to take while we are all out with the kids.

It is also a favorite for tail gating the UNR Wolfpack games here.

Costco sells a powdered cappucino mix that goes great with the peppermint schnapps and is not as sweet. Yummmm

And when you guys tire of that, try Buttershots (butterscotch schnapps) in hot chocolate - yummmmm!

Hot Chocolate and Malibu Rum can take you into spring. When it's not warm enough for cold drinks, but you wanna start feeling a tad tropical.

Tatses like a melted Almond Joey if you splash Amaretto in it.

Yes, I -did- used to Bartend. :teeth:

frangelico and rasberry rum are also very good in hot chocolate :thumbsup2

Oh, yum! I've been using butterscotch hot chocolate. DH will have to get some of this. I haven't been in a liquor store in ages, and DH doesn't move much beyond the beers of the world without specific instructions. Thanks for the tip!

Malibu rum is a staple in our house. This will be the perfect thing to carry me through. :thumbsup2
