Okay, while I'm on my next trip I'll be at Kidani which does not have a quick service option. But I like a hot egg breakfast while on vacation. Does anyone know if they have breakfast sandwiches you can make in the microwave at Johari? Or do you know how to cook an egg in the microwave so I can put it on an English muffin before heading out in the morning? Being in a studio definitely has its cooking drawbacks, but because it's just me there was no way I was going for a one bedroom.

Hi I always make scrambled egg in the microwave anyway!
Here in England we can buy "microwave egg poachers" which I am planning to buy and try out at home before we go!

Claire :)

I use one of these to make eggs for my breakfast sandwiches at home:

Hey,
I have something similar.

I used this: http://www.amazon.com/Nordic-Ware-M...2?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1303504942&sr=1-2

exclusively when we renovated our kitchen for months!!!!
It makes pretty darn decent egg. Just make sure you poke holes on the yolk or you might have an exploding egg.

Put your muffins in the toaster, and after the egg is done put the cheese on top to melt it a little. Then slide the egg on your toasty (buttered or not) muffin. YUM!

Sometimes I put hot sauce on the egg too after it cooks.

Jimmy Dean D-Light breakfast sandwiches are great...however, I also like to make my own.

I buy a carton of egg whites (whole eggs would work too) and simply poor them into a round glass Tupperware container. I toast the english muffin, and cook the egg. I throw a piece of cheese on top at the end. Sometimes putting the whole thing in the microwave for 5 seconds or so to melt the cheese.

You can also make bacon in the microwave. Doesn't taste as great as in skillet, but still works!

I was also going to be bringing a small electric skillet for a stay at AKV studio. Thanks for this thread and all the really good ideas.

We actually will be driving so I think we will get a bigger skillet!!!! Who needs a full kitchen anyway? ;)

I also frequently make egg sandwiches. Quite easy - just scramble the egg and put in a small container. In a studio I'd probably use a coffee mug to give me the proper size and shape. :) It doesn't take long to cook in a microwave- and just watch out for over cooking.

Agreed - it only takes a minute or so! I frequently do this at home to save skillet cleaning. This is a fast and easy way to enjoy a hot and delicious breakfast in the room.
