Horseless Headman and Evil Squirrels Are Out To Get Us! April TR

For some reason, where me and Anthony went for the next few hours at MK is slightly a blur. We rode a lot of rides and not too much happened. My folks took off to make more CM friends as usual!

DH and I must of walked over to Tomorrowland and rode Space Mountain. I didn't get to ride it the last time I was there since it was closed for refurb. I didn't see much different. It was funny seeing a ride pic at the end! I didn't know that feature was added and was like, "I'm just sitting there looking forward. Boo!" :lmao: We went to ride the Wedway (yes, it will always be the Wedway to me!), but it was shut down. That happened a few times while we were there, but we did actually get to ride it once.

Anthony and I made our way to the Mad Tea Cups. WOOT!

When we got off, I saw Alice was out. She was so pretty too. Several years ago when we did 1900 Park Fare character breakfast, the "Alice" that came to our table looked like she was on something. A little too much time with the Mad Hatter, I guess

Onto Frontierland and this...

DSCN5434.jpg

When we got off, my DH informed me that he's not fond of roller coasters. What? But he rode many more after that though! Silly butt.

DSCN5433.jpg

Yay for sign pics!

DSCN5443.jpg

We were hungry, so we headed to Pecos Bill's. Now I have been a fan of that counter service for many years. The hamburgers are always yummy and I go crazy getting mushrooms and onions from the bar! I bragged and bragged to Anthony about the food. He was looking forward to the onions from the bar to put on his cheeseburger.

DSCN5436.jpg

Well, all my bragging was a total wash. There were NO onions on the bar! They had mushrooms, but they weren't very good. The cheeseburgers were horrible, like the worse I've ever had there. Another strike against WDW! :sad2:

Alicia and her mom were on their way, but we still had a little time before they made it to MK. We wandered into Liberty Square. I suggested we do the Hall of Presidents since I hadn't seen it in many years and DH hadn't at all. Met a couple new friends.

DSCN5440.jpg

This dress sort of freaked me out. It was President Monroe's wife's dress, but it looks like it's for a 10 year old! How small were people back then? lol

DSCN5442.jpg

We both enjoyed the HoP! I really liked the movie. It's an amazing sight to see all the "presidents" together. It was creepy to see all of them look at whichever one was speaking. Abe Lincoln standing up was the creepiest of all. So real looking! :scared1:

Here's some pointless info, my favorite president is Teddy Roosevelt.

"REMEMBER ROOSEVELT AND THE CARRIAGE!" (to quote the best movie ever, "Newsies") :dance3:

Congrats on your little Princess!!!!!

YAY for more TR!!!

I'm sorry that Pecos Bills was disappointing for your trip this time. It's one of our favorites too, especially with the fixins bar.

Enjoyed the updates. I really like that first picture of Alice. Very nicely composed and well captured.

Monroe's dress does look pretty tiny, doesn't it? Didn't women wear corests back in those days? Chances are she wasn't that tiny in reality either.

I was really shocked at how bad the food was! The buns were hard, meat was bland, mushrooms weren't all that. Never has that happened. We ate at there twice last trip and it was amazing food! Just a regular cheeseburger was mouth watering. Oh well. Must of had a bad cook that day

Thanks! I love taking pics :yay:

It isn't really the waist size, but the shortness. The poor girl must have been 4'8! :scared1: As for corsets, yeah I think most women that could afford them worse them up until the early 1900's. Glad that changed before I was born!

Anthony and I made our way to Adventureland where we met my folks. I found the place where Tiana and Naveen were doing meet and greet, but it seemed every time I went to get in line the line was closed! The CM had to keep telling us to come back later, which I'm glad we got to wait since Alicia was on her way!

Here's a little history behind me and Alicia's friendship. We met online almost 11 years ago on eGroups, which turned into yahoo groups later. I was 17 and she was 15 and we both had a huge love for the movie, NEWSIES! We also found very quickly that we were both Disney freaks.

After knowing each other for a few years, I started inviting her to come to WDW with us since she lived only a hour and a half north of Orlando. She was kind of hesitant since we had never met in person, but finally she gave the okay for our 2004 trip and we decided to meet at a McDonald's in Wildwood. It was so awesome to have her along! We had a great time, but Hurricane Jean thought it was a good idea to come through while we were at WDW, so Alicia had to leave a day early. But we stopped by her house to say bye!

Ever since then we have either picked her up or she has met us at WDW to stay a few nights or just to hang out for the day. Alicia and her mom are pretty much apart of our family and I love them so much! :grouphug:

Here's a few pics from previous trips. I'm missing a couple WDW trips though. Must not have those saved on photobucket.

I just found these pics I took with my camcorder. My husband bought me the camcorder for Christmas. I was so excited to use it at WDW, because it takes still shots while you're recording video. I used it for a lot of rides, but some times it didn't work! But it did work for Thunder Mountain and the little hoedown they do in Frontierland.

I promise I'll get back to the regular trip report next post!!!

Yikes! It's been a while. Must get back to our regularly scheduled trip report! :cool1:

We left off with all four of us meeting in Adventureland to wait for Alicia and her mom to show up. I thought it was the perfect time to get one of the most delicious treats in WDW.

DOLE PINEAPPLE FLOAT

DSCN5448.jpg

Our floats started melting very quickly. I didn't get through much of the ice cream before it turned to mush, but I did drink all the pineapple juice and made a scrunchy face the whole time

Finally, Alicia and Sandy arrived!!! :dance3:

After much hugging, Sandy started taking pics of us.

100_0181.jpg

My dad thought it best if we split up. The "parents" group went their way and us (adult) kids went off to Toontown. I remember when Toontown was Mickey's Starland. Does anyone else remember? I loved it as Starland. I'm sad that Toontown is going bye-bye, but it has been there for 22 years. Alicia and I took lots of pics since we weren't sure if that'd be the last time we saw the place.

DSCN5450.jpg

I like finding anything with Peg-leg Pete on it. The character looks and acts just LIKE my Uncle Butch. It's uncanny :scared1:

We toured Mickey's and Minnie's houses.

My mom has a coffee mug with the plate design on it. I always thought it was a bit creepy.

Dewey, Dewey, and Dewey! LOL. My folks said that's what I used to call them when I was very little. Guess that's why Dewey has always been my fave nephew :upsidedow

To be continued...

Grab the cheese, Alicia!

After Toontown, I think me, Anthony, and Alicia went to Tomorrowland. Alicia wanted to ride Space Mountain, but she couldn't. Months ago she was in a car accident and hurt her spine. She has to wait for scar tissue to form before she can really get back to riding the rough stuff.

Instead, we went to Monsters Inc. Comedy Floor! We were one of the last people to get into the waiting room. When we were let into the show room, I somehow did not get a seat! I'm can't totally remember how it happened, but Alicia sat down and my husband sat down and we had a family between us :confused3 That family got up to move but before I could sit down between Alicia and Anthony, people behind us squeezed them together and there was once a foot gap between them  I may be small, but my butt is NOT a foot long! I basically sat half on the seat and half on Anthony, also squashed against Alicia. Yeah, it wasn't comfortable. I enjoyed the show, but it wasn't as funny as it usually is.

We headed to Liberty Square to see if Princess Tiana's line was open again. We had just missed the cut off spot! :headache: The CM said come back in another 30 minutes. I said lets ride Haunted Mansion even though it freaks the heck out of me. But DH had never ridden it, so I took one for the team.

The line was kind of long. We finally were corraled into the stretch room (with me plastered to Anthony's arm). When the lights went out, some guy yelled "I'm nervous!" in a scared voice. That totally cracked everyone up :lmao: My DH thought it was a good idea to go behind my back and touch my ear :scared1: Yes, he got smacked!

The cattle were really pushy as we exited the stretch room. I had to be the chain between Alicia and Anthony so we could actually stay together. But then the teenage guy next to us fell to the floor and started having seizures! His dad (or whoever the man was) jumped right into action and held the boy's head so he wouldn't bang it on the floor. Alicia stepped in to see if they needed any help since she is in the medical field. The mom said they had it under control. The ride halted for a long time though until medics could come and get the boy out. I feel bad for the boy having a seizure, but why did it have to happen in the creepiest ride line? But at least it didn't happen while he was on the ride. The medics got the boy out safely and I guess he recovered after a while.

The ride started up again. Anthony kept laughing at me because I wouldn't open my eyes. The only part of the ride I like is the hitchhiking ghost. They're cool! Anthony got a kick out of them too. Alicia, who was sitting in er own buggy, put her arm around her ghost. :rotfl2:

I was very glad when we walked out! It was about time for Princess Tiana to come back out, so that's where we went. We just made it into the last spot of the day!!! :woohoo: DH went off to get him an ice cream while waiting for us. At least he had something to do since it took 30 minutes to get to Tiana. I remember I had some Mardi Gras beads in my backpack, so we slipped those on.

DSCN5489.jpg

We drew closer and closer to Tiana and Naveen!
DSCN5494.jpg

DSCN5497.jpg

I must say this Tiana was so incredibly PRETTY! I loved her accent, whether fake or not, it was great. Since we were the last guests of the day, Tiana and Naveen talked to us for a little while. It was awesome! I was born and raised in New Orleans, so I talked to her about beignets and Mardi Gras and all that stuff.

These next pics are from photopass. I did not realize the photographer was shooting so much, but I'm glad he was since he caught some great moments.

These pics of Naveen and Alicia are CLASSIC! Some of my faves from the trip. The guy playing Naveen was perfect - looked, sounded, and acted just like him.

Alas, we had to say good-bye. Meeting them was one of the best moments on the trip. :goodvibes

Anthony had found a spot by the exit of the meet and greet to wait for us.
DSCN5499.jpg

He said he was going back to POR to rest. I sadly let him go, because I knew he was very tired. Alicia and I were off to Splash Mountain!

All caught up!

I just tried the Pineapple Dole Whip Float for the first time on my last trip. I love pineapple, but I think it was almost too much pineapple. It was good though, but like yours, did melt pretty fast.

Your DH doesn't look very comfortable in Minnie's chair.

Enjoyed seeing the pictures of you with Tiana and Naveen. That Naveen looks like quite the character.

Yay!

The float can be a bit too pineapple-y. That's why I always look like I'm eating a lemon when I eat it.

Tiana and Naveen were quite fun to hang around!

I received a surprise package from disneystore.com yesterday! My awesome cousin, Kelly, ordered a couple things for the baby.

Since we're from Louisiana (though I live in Mississippi now), she bought a LSU onesie! Now the baby can show off LA pride.
DSCN6600.jpg

She also bought a blanket with the baby's name on it. When I saw the name enbroidered on it, I cried happy mommy tears

I hope your husband was starting to have a better time!

I've never thought of Haunted Mansion as scary! What about it do you find scary if you don't mind me asking?

He had an okay time at MK, but he enjoyed AK and Epcot the best. He took his camera to AK and had fun taking tons of pics.

I guess the spookiness of HM is what gets me. I'm not really a "horror" fan. Though HM is far from being horror, it still reminds me of that. This may sound weird, but I also have a phobia for antiques. Like when I go to the Cracker Barrel restaurant, they have a bunch of old portraits from the 1800's hanging on the wall. I cannot sit near one or I get anxiety. LOL! Yeah, it's a weird phobia.

All caught up, thanks to the handy dandy links. I'm sorry your hubby was a grump at WDW.
Congrats on the baby on the way!

Looking forward to more..

Y'know the part right before the big drop when Brer Fox says what he's going to do to Brer Rabbit? There's like 3 different sayings and I like to guess which one he's going to say. I got it right this time! :yay:

"I'm gonna roast ya!"

After the ride, we found our pic and decided to buy one. I have a big collection of ride pics! Sadly, I don't have this one scanned. Maybe I'll post it later. The CM who checked us out was so friendly, I got her autograph. She was very excited.

DSCN5509.jpg

Another CM walked over and I grabbed her for an autograph too!

DSCN5510.jpg

We left Splash Mountain, headed toward Fantasyland when we ran into these 3 troublemakers! aka The Parents

DSCN5511.jpg

We didn't know what they had been doing until we looked at their pics. They apparently went kooky on Tom Sawyer's Island. I'll post those pics in the next post.

Alicia was hungry, so she got a cheeseburger at Pecos Bill's. Her mom did a sneak attack on us!
