Do they still have horse back riding at Fort Wilderness?
Where can I find info on how much it is and all that?

Yes, they still have it. You might want to ask on the Camping board - I'm sure someone there has the prices.

Yes, they have horse-back riding still. If I remember it right, it is about $42.00 per person for a 45 -60 minute ride around the Fort Wilderness camp ground trails.

Dd and I did it this past December and that is right. We were first-timers and had fun. You have to check in at the kennel office and that's where I called to make the reservation. I think it's 407-WDW-Play to get connected.

Does anyone know if it is a 90 day out reservation and if it needs to be paid up front?

Thanks.

I don't remember the time frame but they took my credit card number over the phone but didn't charge it until that day. I think there is a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Now can anyone explain to a horse novice like myself the reason I have been reading that we should absolutely wear long pants when riding? End of August is dreadfully hot to wear long pants........

You'll generally be more comfortable in the saddle - chafing and possible pinching you know. ;)
And, this may be especially true if it is hot.

We didn't follow their suggestion to wear long pants, but you're not allow to wear any kind of flipflops or slides.

The saddle will rub and possibly even pinch your bare legs. Wear pants, you'll be glad you did. In the very, very, very unlikely event you should fall off, the pants will protect your legs from scrapes and cuts.
