HI All! I'm looking for some honest opinions about the horseback riding excursion at Kualoa Ranch. Thanks!

I did the horseback riding excursion two weeks ago. I grew up riding horses but haven't ridden in a good 10 years. 2 hours is a long time to be in a saddle and my legs and ankles were sore by the end. We did not have any narration or stop for any pictures like the other tours seemed to do. Our guide also didn't talk very much to us at all in general because he was busy helping others in our group that didn't have any horse experience. The scenery was beautiful though and I did enjoy being around the horses. I'm glad we did it once but will choose a different excursion next time.

There are also horseback opportunities at Turtle Bay and Gunstock Ranch.

You will have similar experience at all of them that your guides will be concerned with helping people ride rather than narrating.

We did the two hour ride, and honestly we weren’t huge fans. The horses were grumpy, and one from a different group took off running to follow his friend heading in the opposite direction. 😳 Our guide was fine and gave us a good amount of info as we rode along.

We’re interested in trying the Hawaii Polo Trail rides along the North Shore beach. I can’t recommend personally, but I’ve heard great things about it!
