Horror Movie Watchers.....

We aren't big horror movie watchers but we enjoy a scary movie every now and again. Anyway we rented Freddy v/s Jason this weekend and I just wasn't that wowed by it. Maybe it was because we were at home and it would have been better on the big screen but it just reminded me of all the other movies. Nothing WOW like I expected (grew up in the 80s and loved Freddy movies.)

Just wondering what the opinions of real horror movie watchers is.

I wasn't WOWED by it either and I watched in the theater. I guess I was expecting alot more from the whole vs thing!! I loved watching the Jason and Freddy movies when I was younger but this one did nothing for me.
As well as Cabin Fever....I was told it was such a great movie...so disgusting etc...but didn't find it that amusing!!

My child wants to see Cabin Fever because it has SHAWN in it from Boy Meets World......so it wasn't that good either huh.

The only horror movie that has really creeped me out lately and its an older movie is Jeepers Creepers the first one, I haven't rented the second. But I HATE BIRDS! They have always terrified me so Jeepers Creepers scared the beejeebees out of me

Jeepers Creepers 2 was good!! I liked it, was almost as good as the first! I can say that it did make me jump a few times, as well as grossed me out. I love those parts!!
I'll look up some others and tell you the good ones...seems all I do is watch movies.

I don't like the bloody gory axe murderer horrer movies. I'm more of a subtle spooky horror movie fan.

If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend The Ring for horror fans - no blood & guts, but truly creepy!

I am an absolute horror movie addict! If it's out, I'll go see it. That said, I did run to see Freddy vs Jason and got exactly what I expected: a gory tour de force of violence for violence' sake. Not more, not less. And I enjoyed it.

I know there is abolutely no merit to these movies but for some reason, I love them. I have just about every one of them on either video or DVD, from the 70's through the 90's. Happy Birthday to Me, April Fool's Day, all the Fridays, Freddy's and Halloweens, Graduation Day, House on Sorority Row, Final Exam, The Burning, Madman, Christmas Evil, He Knows You're Alone, Silent Night, Deadly Night, The Final Terror, and on and on.

Did I tell you I have horrible taste in movies?

Anyway, ironically enough, my absolute favorite horror movies have little to no gore at all. Halloween is one. Not a drop is shed. But The Changeling and (original) The Haunting are classics.

I caught the horror movie bug from my Mom. Whenever she visits, I put the latest addition to my collection in the DVD or VCR player. She loves them as much as I!

My boyfriend and I rented Cabin Fever and had to shut it off when an explicit sex scene came up (my roomie is very religious and it wasn't okay by her).
Just thought I would let ya know about that.

I absolutly LOVE LOVE LOVE April Fools Day. I recently made DH (who had never seen it) watch it and at the end he was absolutly speechless.

Thats one I recommend without giving away any spoilers. If you haven't seen April Fools Day...RENT IT!

I love horror movies that are about something that could actually happen. That is what really gives me a good scare. Another oldie that I might suggest would be "I spit on your grave" Truly a skin crawler!

I really disliked Cabin Fever. It had a great premise but seemed like such a silly movie to me. Wrong Turn was disappointing too.

The original version of The Haunting is my favorite all-time horror movie and there's not a bit of gore in it. Halloween is great too. I also love almost anything with Vincent Price or Peter Cushing, Trilogy of Terror, Burnt Offerings and The Fog to name just a few.

An old low-budget favorite of mine is Hell Night with Linda Blair. April Fool's Day was good too, I love the twist.

If you rent, look for a little movie called Lost Voyage. It came out before Ghost Ship but was never released in the U.S. It is a bit far fetched but I like the atmosphere.

I have to go with the majority here Cabin Fever was terrible. And Wrong Turn was a cheap attempt at a Texas CHainsaw Massacre type movie.

I personally do not like slasher films and feel they should be separate from Horror.

I love Trilogy of Terror, wouldn't put my feet on the floor without checking under my bed, well until, ok this morning. The Ring is good. I liked Identity also with John Cusack. Carrie and the Shining are also good. I also remember a TV mini series based on Stephen King's Salem's Lot - very good.

Can't wait for the remake to be released in March....

I love horror movies! But have a hard time getting DH to watch any w/ me. Has been awhile since I've seen any. The last one was Ghost Ship...and I have to admit... I thought it was pretty good, although there's one scene that really grossed me out. I don't usually get grossed out by these movies, but that one did a good job.

Last night Amityville Horror was on TV. LOL, seems like I thought that was a good movie - YEARS ago. Last night it seemed so lame go figure

Ok, for those horror fans out there I have a question. As I mentioned before, I'm a huge fan of the genre, whether movies, TV or books. Even some toys!

Given my interest (borderline obsession), my friends and family just don't get that I'm also a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Disney and WDW in particular. They give me such blank, confused stares! LOL!
