Have you ever been selected from the audience for the Horror Make up show? :scared1: ... or someone in your group?

Just wondering...

We haven't but we were sitting in the front row right by the woman who was chosen.
It was an awesome show and she was really a good sport about it
I was a little worried about my 5 yr old being scared but he loved it
And with the "surprise" at the end, I just kept telling him...
"It's not real, it's not real" and he was fine

every time i have been to that show, they almost alway choose an Asian woman.

each time it's a winning choice!

this is one of my favorite things at the studios side to do.

I didn't get picked, but was the 'lucky' recipient of all the water he squirted out, actually got pretty soaked...

We used the Express Line, which put us on the front row..

I've been writing about Orlando attractions since the mid 90s and I think it must be Rule #1 in the CM handbook that, if at all possible, you should pick a foreign tourist as a volunteer.

The old Wild Bill's dinner show in Kissimmee (of blessed memory) had a hysterical skit where they did a sort of frontier Romeo and Juliet, picking two tourists, who didn't speak each other's language and didn't speak much English, to play the Romeo and Juliet parts. It was fall out of your seat funny.

Actually, having seen the Horror Make-Up show more times than I can count, I can attest to the fact that it is not always a Japanese woman. I've seen women from South America, too.

My mom!

She was chosen for the "knife in heart" and "heart blood" gags :)

In our trips to Universal, I have to hang my head in shame as we have never done the Horror Make-up Show...after reading these boards - Im guessing this is something we really should do?

We have seen it more times that we can count too.

Our favorite was a woman from Columbia who spoke no English. Her relatives were translating from the audience. During the part where they were going to cut her arm off, she picked up one of the knives and brandished it at the actors, stabbing in the air to keep them away.

There was lots of hysterical ad libbing about her actions and how she really was from Columbia.

Yes! We were the same way, we've been to IOA/US about 6-7 times and had never done it. But we finally did this past July and it was fabulous!
My whole family loved it.

We are going to have to do it this trip - I can't wait, sounds like everyone enjoys it. I saw some great pics of inside on these boards and it really got me going. :woohoo:

The horror makeup show is one of those sleeper attractions that makes you go "wow, how did I keep missing this one?" after you've seen it.

Would you mind sending me a PM to tell me what the surprise at the end is? I want to make sure it won't scare my ds.

I KNOW!!!!!!

That's happened the two times I saw that show.

No, thank goodness! I've seen the show way too many times to have the reaction they're looking for.

Every time we've seen the Horror Make-Up show, an Asian woman has been selected (as Mac mentioned). We were just there yesterday and we were trying to guess who was going to get choosen and you know what? I was not able to spot an Asian woman in the entire audience. They chose a lady named Linda from England. She was fantastic. She was the best participant we've seen yet. She was such a good sport. No matter how many times I've seen the show, it's fantastic and it ALWAYS makes me laugh. It's way too good to miss.

::yes::

Deffinatly do it.The way they improv makes it a diff show everytime!!

The last few times we did it they have been a English women chosen(I would of loved to have seen the Columbin women),Way Too Funny:rotfl2:

We've seen it so many times that I would turn them down if they tried to select me to go up on stage.

However, our last visit two months ago, I was asked to pull out the knife in the chest. I knew what was going to happen, but I went for it and tried to yank it out because I knew if I didn't, I'd get soaked later. I got a handshake and thanks for being a good sport, and was spared from the soaking later in the show.

I'm with you on that one. Saw it for the first time two trips ago. Now it is a must do every trip.

On our one and only time seeing the show, last December, I was lucky enough to be the one getting soaked...and teased, because I wouldn't save him by giving him mouth to mouth! It was hysterical! Even DH laughed and he doesn't usually get into that sort of thing.

The woman chosen was a foreigner, but not Asian.
