I put up two contracts for resale - not giving any details here to avoid violating the rules.

First contract sold in two weeks.

Received an offer for the second one at $6 less a few days ago. Nearly identical contract s. I countered 50% an agent from A VERY WELL RESALE COMPANY sent a message to me suggesting that I contact my agent to discuss the selling price. I thought that was odd because my contract happens to be the lowest selling price of the exact same resort and amounts of points.

I also told him that the agent was the one who recommended the selling price. It wasn't what I picked and it is well below the others.

He told me that the agent was advising me perhaps incorrectly since there are several other contracts available. There's between 5 and 10- again trying not to identify. And they are all more money/pt.

The guy is really off. He has a whole affect - a pretends he's a Disney character and it's very off-putting. I told him I found the characteration of his emails slightly threatening as if to imply that this very well-known resale company is not going to attempt to sell my contract. It was also odd how late in the evening he was sending me emails back and forth.

I asked if he called all the other owners of all the other contracts at the exact resort with the same options to see if they wanted to reduce their price by 15 or $20 since he was harassing me for $3.

I forwarded the entire email chain to my agent that works, of course, for the same company and advised him to send it to the appropriate folks in the chain of command and to let me know if he does not want to represent this contract because I have plenty of other choices - many of them charge far less commission.

Crickets.

Sellers be weary of your choice. I have the luxury of time to sell. It's a choice not a necessity. Many folks need their agent to do their job. Pick carefully.

Not trying to identify the contract but can you link the broker name?

I've noticed a fair number of contracts being listed in the evening. Also a fair number of contracts coming down from various sites in the evening. I'm pretty sure some of the people working as resale agents are doing this as second jobs. Pretty common in the real estate business. In California--where I life--you need a real estate license to sell time shares. I assume the same is true in Florida--that you at least need some level of real estate certification. This after hours / weekend direction really matches the overall real estate market--particularly for those (like teachers) whose jobs ends before 5pm.

What really worries me is that my agent shared the buyer of my other contract is doing it to surprise his wife for Mother's Day. I sincerely hope they don't mess with their purchase.

At least one of them was a former DVC guide or so he says. It was very late like almost 11:00 and he wouldn't stop even though I told him to please stop emailing me

I believe that the term "guide" can mean many things. Technically the guides should be the ones with the licenses. But I've heard sales associates call themselves that as well. And yes, there's nutty people in most every profession.

Update: I've heard from several numbers here who know exactly who this agent is. Also the agent who has the listing has reached out and said he is very upset with his colleague that's a direct quote and he will be calling me later this afternoon.
The most important part for me is that thing potential new owner is trying to do a lovely thing for his wife will not have that contract jeopardized. I can always find someone else to sell the second one.

In terms of rhyming, I'm pretty sure that you're going to AVAIL yourself over this DOCKET, with the Woody's boot issue. Right?

That was my guess too from the description. I've worked with him twice and he's been very reasonable and attentive. This does sound like odd and out of line behavior though. Disappointing.
His colleague called me and apologized for a half an hour before I could get a word in. I forwarded him the entire email chain so it wouldn't be a he said she said kind of situation because it's all in writing.

More follow-up for anyone reading along. The colleague called and apologize for half an hour before I could even get a word in. He also said he forwarded the entire email chain up to the president of the company. This is not the first time they've heard complaints.

So everyone else understands what happened here? I read it 5 times and I am somewhat confused. You listed with broker xyz and an agent from a well known brokerage which is not broker xyz emailed you, harassing you to lower the price? Or is he also with xyz broker just not the agent you listed with?

I read it as the latter - same brokerage, different agents

Okay. That is actually so weird. He could just talk to the agent who has the listing and ask them to reach out to the seller/op

Thanks for posting OP since there are many options for selling and we need to know when crazy things arise so we can decide who we should choose to sell with.

Extremely odd for another agent to contact you directly like that. Especially concerning the subject matter. Proper thing would be for him to contact your agent. Sort out anything that needs to be squared away internally first without involving the client. And if for any reason the client/you needs to be contacted, YOUR agent would be the one to reach out. Not some other random agent that works at the same company. Very odd way for him to approach the situation.
