I have just completed one of the most horrible trades I have ever been a part of. What a BAD experience with a VERY un-ethical trader. I wont share the name here, but if youre interested, PM or email me and I will be HAPPY to tell you about it.

These types of traders are what make people RUN away from Pinpics trading -- its very sad.

Michael

I'm sorry to hear that, michael!:(

Ashley:(

That stinks! I recently had a bad experience too, but it won't stop me from trading on-line!! I hope all of your positive experiences will help you over this meany-trader hump!!!!

Kim

Make sure you file a Pinpics complaint, if that is how the trade was made.
My recent bad trdar has less than 48 hours to respond to Pinpics, or loose their Pinpics privileges.
Bad enough they got me. I would like to prevent them from incompleting trades with others.

Michael...he/she is the same trader I had trouble with. I'm glad I told her to take a hike. Sorry you had to find out the hard way. I'm done with on-line trading (except with the good folks I know)until something is done to make sure honest traders have knowledge of a traders true trading history, not just made up positive feedbacks.

Michael, I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience.
I know how much that can hurt...
But keep reminding your good trade experience...

I know we all get hurt ones... but if we would give up on trading because of these people... How the heck shall we meet the good people out there...??????

I won't stop it and I have been burned only this year already for three time... But I keep on doing it because I met all these nice people through trading... MAde good friends like Barb (Luv2Roam) and I would defenitly miss that....

Keep on thinking you all... at least 99% of my trades are positive... I don't let these bad people get me down....

Just my 2 Cents...

Michael,
I sent you a PM.

When I was burned last year by a trader, I always checked references. I passed often than not on new traders, which I don't really like to do.
But after while I got my trust back. Traded with newbies, wasn't as careful about checking references. And look what happened. Burned again.
So, I am still trading. But I know I have to keep on checking references -- always.
We all know it isn't so much the pins we lose in a bad trade. It's the aggravation that goes along with it. It really takes the fun out of trading. ANd I have yet to been proved wrong that if they have done this to one person -- you know there are others.
But I still have to look at all the hundreds of pins I have mailed in two years time. Considering all the pins and $ that has exchanged hands, I have been fortunate.

What's frustrating for me, as a new trader, is the people who won't leave references after a trade has been completed. I leave a reference for them and email saying that I have and would appreciate the same, but then never hear anything again. It's as if once they have 100 of their own, they don't feel the need to leave any for anyone else.

Is this a pinpics thing? There have been at least 3 trades I've done through pinpics that I haven't received references for.

I just had a trade request where the person wanted us both to insure so that "we could blame the post office if anything went wrong". She went on about all of the bad experiences she has been reading about and how she is a "small time trader". She only had a few references, so I suggested a third party trade. Her immediate response was "I'm not interested in a third party trade." Pretty interesting, no?

But it gets better! I actually sent her an e-mail back explaining that I suggested it because I thought it would be the safest for both of us, and may I ask why she wasn't interested in a third party trade?

She responded, "Sure, you can ask!" That was her response! Isn't it amazing how someone who was playing this innocent little "small time trader" morphed into someone who not only didn't want to do anything to protect the trade but became snotty? That's why it's so hard to judge people through e-mail. This is another person I don't know from the boards, and I definitely feel more comfortable trading with folks after I have read their posts and feel like I "know" them (or read their posts and realize I don't want to trade with them..lol!)

Dare I even ask what happened!?

Sorry about your bad experience:-(

As a newbie, I think you should offer to third party swap. I do not know if that practice is generally done or considered a hassle by some traders, but it seems reasonable to me. What's a few extra days and pennys in postage.

As for getting to know folks before you trade, pin swaps seem to be a great way to play and establish yourself as a trader when getting started and make some friends.

That the person you are trading w/ doesn't have "Post Office Phobia" don't laugh...it did happen ... the person couldn't send the pin, even though she had received hers...because of this malady....she is still on pin pics, don't know if she is still suffering, but beware...

Donna,
Not only did that Post office Phobia ruin a trade but I have had the same maledy ruin someone's Pin Swap also. It is nice to know that lists do exist and when I see someone keeps a list of those who are "questionable" I try to avoid having them do the swap.
It does get expensive for me when I have to keep replacing swap pins for people who's swap person refuses to send one.

Peggie -- LMK when/if you have to kick in a pin over a bad swap. I didn't know you were doing this! :( Bless your heart. I would be happy to mail out a few for you.
I am always amazed when people have the time to inititate trades, but not enough time to mail the trade or leave references.

I have had alot of people tell me that this person has done the same to them. I am going to forward the information to PinPics.

Michael

Anyone else who wants to know just email me or send me a PM -- Dont want anyone else to be taken advantage of.

Michael

Just to let you all know how wicked and twisted this person is, I e-mailed her in regards to what she did to Micheal. She e-mailed me back with rediculous lies and questions to which I responded to them all, reminding the person that I had read ALL e-mails between them and Micheal. And that they were still very much in the wrong.

Their response, "whatever". Quote - unquote. Must be a really caring, trusting, sensitive trader....NOT!!!!

Blessings,
Winnie

Hey there Micheal,
Leslie and I talked about your recent experience with this bad trader. I also have traded with this person in the past. The first reaction I got was I found him/her to be very dishonest and greedy. They wanted to make a multiple pin trade but didn't want to make a fair trade. Maybe it's me, but can you confirm this to be true? Did it seem like they wanted your HTF or VHTF pins for some their not so HTF pins? They also kept throwing the Edition Size into play. Now I know not many people are't going to trade a rack pin for an LE of 500 or 750. But some LE 5000 pins or even 3500 are HTF and some LE 750 to 1500 aren't that hard to get, but this person wanted 2 or 3 pins for their LE 1500. It has to be known that this trader won't be tolerated. And one more thing, I think this person is working under 2 different pinpics ID's. I received the same exact trade request from two different people...I mean EXACTLY! Not just 1 pin for 1pin. More like 10 pins for my 1 pin. And both people live in the same city in Massachusetts! Coincidence? I think not. Please let me know what you think.

Sincerely,
Joey:crazy:

Thanks for sharing your story with me. I found it extremely frustrating. I have blocked all mail sent to me and my grandson (WALTSGIRL and GUPPY) from this person. She had sent me a pinpics request at least 3 times last week. Each time I declined. They were for VHTF pins of mine (Raven and cruise line) for LE3000 pins on my list. Funny how I never got a multiple trade for my HTF pins, since she's big on them. Thanks again!

Well it almost happened to me! I answered a trade request with this person (her screenname didn't register initially). When she answered me she used her phrase "as long as your pin is in mint condition". That's when the alarm in my head went off! I let her know that I changed my mind about the trade! If I'm not mistaken (correct me if I'm wrong Figgy) there is a way to block her from sending me trade requests. I will definately be doing that!

Like I said to her, I've enjoyed online trading for 3 years, I'd hate to have a jerk like her ruin it!

Thanks Michael.......... even if I didn't pay attention at first!
