I will definitely check the sheets and washroom when we arrive.

I don't agree with the post saying you get inferior service at a value resort because you don't pay as much to stay there. The Mousekeepers are paid the same whether they clean a value or a deluxe resort and lazy mousekeepers could be working at a deluxe just as a superior mousekeeper could be working at a value. Saying that is like saying they take the rotten and expired food from the deluxe and serve it at the values!

I.m just back. We stayed at the back side of the 70's building, facing hourglass lake. Our room was clean when we got there and stayed that way during our trip. This was our third visit to Pop, and we have another coming up in February.

We stayed at PC from 1/11 - 1/13. Got a towel creature on the 12th, which was cool. Never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus (contrasted with waiting 25 minutes at Contemporary for a bus), only one bus had standing room only.

The stay was excellent overall. Much more than I expected, certainly. Were the rooms Motel 6-y? Sure. Was it noisy? Sure but what can you do?

Your experience was horrible, and there are no excuses for not cleaning rooms between guests.

Unfortunately, it happens. Yes, Virginia, even at Disney resorts. I've stayed at the Intercontinental and at the Ritz and had issues with cleanliness. Bottom line, it happens. It's how it's dealt with after the fact that makes a difference. Just my opinion.

I got the same postcard. We really enjoyed PC the first two times we stayed there. I'm not sure if I should stay there again or spend the extra 15 bucks and stay at PO

When I go I think I'll be taking some antibacterial Febreeze, checking everything with a blacklight and of course carrying Clorox wipes.(and yes, I do in fact have portable blacklight on hand)

That being said I have to agree that OMG who leaves a room like that in the first place!!!!! If you had an "accident" and didn't make it all the way there would you not try to clean up a bit yourself first? :sad2: I would be horrified if I ever left a room in such condition!

I'll be at POP in Dec. for over 10 days with 3 others! Hope we don't get cabin fever! Then again I plan to spend as much time out of the room as possible.

I hate to sound like a hotel snob, but I would rather shell out a little more to get a MOD resort. The Value resorts are always filled with travel groups, high school groups, etc. Large groupd of (sometimes) rowdy guests who can keep you up at night. I am glad to hear the beautiful CSR was more suitable.

We stayed 6 nights at Pop this past week and am happy to report we had no major problems with the room or anything else. We'll definitely stay again. I agree there can be problems no matter where you stay, deluxe or not.

To the OP, sorry you had this admittedly disgusting problem. If you can, give it another try. :wizard:

:sunny: :goodvibes SAME FOR US ALL GOD BLESS EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT TRIP :cool1: TAKE CARE

When I was in school I was taught that when you have a problem and don't get what you believe is the proper response, write to the CEO of the company. I have had to do this on occasion and I can assure you it works!

I agree.....I'm a DVC Member and have heard some bad housekeeping stories in those resorts as well.

I carry sanitary wipes with me every where I go...........I always wipe down every thing. Even when I stay at the Best of the Best hotels. Although I did not think of the Febreeze........GOOD idea.......a small can of lysol too!!!

I wrote to the executive offices. I wouldn't know who else to write to. :confused3

Good idea. I think I will have to start taking some clorox wipes or something myself.

I also had a horrible experience at the Pop and will never stay at a value resort again. We got off the Disney Magic on 1/23 and could not fly home until Monday because of the weather. We decided to make the most of our unexpected stay at Orlando and stay at a Disney resort. We stayed for 2 nights and if we booked for an entire week, I would have checked out after my first night. I thought because it was the newest value resort it would be in good condition. I was wrong. There was mildew in the shower, something that can be removed by washing. The pool areas were nice but I think Disney should have spent more money on soundproofing the rooms instead of "whimsical" themes. Some of the front desk were rude, some were great. This resort is not up to Disney standards. I think if some of the executives stayed a week at this resort they would either sell it or fix it up. The Pop is like staying at a Motel 6 type motel with a Disney price. In fact, in my early 20s when I did not have much money, I stayed at budget Motel 6 properties and most were nicer than the Pop. Shame on Disney for going cheap on sound proofing. The resort was not even that full. The glasses, er I mean cups were plastic, how tacky for a Disney resort. We could loudly hear the floor above us to;oet flush and conversations from the next room over. Disney really messed up on designing the pop by going cheap on material and expensive of decor. I told several people about the bad quality of the Disney Pop and cautioned them about their upcoming stay at another resort. They decided to book a different hotel and stay clear of value resorts of Disney World.
