Horribe cruise experience..?!

"We get settled in and find that it is very cold in our room. We try to lower the theromstats in each room, and find that they are not working"

If they were cold why didn't they RAISE the thermostat?

Sounds to me like these people did absolutely no research about the cruise and didn't have the sense to ask their concierge for the things they wanted to do.

"Animators Palace" they don't even know the names of the places on the ship.

First off she was in a Cat.2.. if she did not want to wait in line to eat why in the world didn't she order in room service. If I ever am blessed with a suite I can assure you I would be dining in at least some of the nights.. to me that is the ultimate..eat off the restaurant menus in the comfort of your suite... (in my dreams..maybe once DS moves out of the house and we finally have paid off Jay's lawschool loans, and the mortgages, and the braces and the sprinklers........) She certainly had the option to live like a queen during that cruise....
The part that really floored me was how she was so annoyed that they wanted her mattress from the pullout couch that she was not using.. that they should not take it from a suite.. go to a lower cabin.......how pretentious. My goodness if I was not using my couch mattress and a child had an accident on theirs I would be more than willing to donate mine.........Some people just are too self absorbed..

I completely agree. I didn't like how she was trying to say that since she was staying in one of the suites, she had TONS of money. Bah.

I also find it a little odd that Disney charged her so much money for an additional room at the hotel. Who knows. Maybe she just wanted some attention?

Geesh! This just sounds like one of those people that think they are more important than they are. The very ones that I am sure make some of the crew on the Disney ship cringe when they walk on with their imperious attitude! Personally, I am hoping this means this person will never again cruise Disney, thereby assuring I will never run into her!

Lisa

She may have tried to sound like she had money, but she has no brain...Jester....instead of gesture....

Also, I never understood why people wait on line to get into the restaurants...you are guaranteed a seat....we just walk in the dining room after the mad rush and sit down. We watch all the people in line and enjoy our drink while sitting down in the Promenade Lounge.

Sounds like she was upset she was not on her own private yacht to me. I hope not many first timers read that account and take it as gospel, because we all know it is not.

Now I have to remember Mom's wise words: "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". So, now I will shut my mouth while I am ahead.:D

Wah, Wah, Wah!!!!!

I want a free room at the Grand!

I don't want to wait in line!

The room is too cold, now it is too warm!

I am only concerned about me!

I have stayed in the Mini-suites at the GF, and they are plenty of room for 5 people.

I also find it a little odd that Disney charged her so much money for an additional room at the hotel.
At the rates they charge for the GF, that is just about right.

As a DIS shareholder, I'm truly glad they didn't comp her the room.

Jim

I wonder....do you think that she called and complained about everything to DCL and they gave her a suite at a cheaper rate on a later cruise?

I would never, ever want to run into this person. There are all types of people out there, and there's always someone who wants something for nothing.

:yo-yo:

HELLLOOOO LADY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your husband gave the waiter your DAUGHTER's KTTW card to pay for the bottle of wine at Promenade's. ALL cards are chargeable unless you change it at guest services. That's why it looked like your 2 year old charged a bottle of wine.

Sounds to me like you had too much whine, lady. (and I don't mean jester  )

WAH WAH WAH! I can't believe how people can complain so much about a vacation!!!! I have to laugh at how unbelievably obnoxious she is! To think that just because you are staying a suite you DESERVE a baby-sitter and don't wish to be put on a wait list! UGH! And since suites are usually booked pretty far in advance, you can't be telling me that you couldn't book the early dinner seating when you made the reservation.

Funny thing, when my sister and I were sailing on the August 30th Western, we met a family like this. We went to the safety drill and they ended up sitting down across the table from us in Animators. It was two parents and a young girl. NONE of them were wearing their vests - just carrying them - and acting like they were too "good" for the drill. The mother was whining about everything and was talking about how the crew members were awful because her luggage wasn't there by 3pm. She was also explaining to her husband how she had to "tell off" guest services because of some inadequacy in their stateroom. We kept running into this family everywhere throughout the week and every time we saw them, the mother had a look of disgust on her face and was yelling at one of the crew members for something or other. My sister and I came to call her a "certain name" under our breath everytime we saw her.

It really is so sad that some people can't manage to sit back and have a great time - I can't imagine how that is hard to do when you're sailing with Disney!!!

Now I have to remember Mom's wise words: "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all".

I'm not an English major by any means, but I know the difference between a jester of goodwill :jester: and a "Gesture" of goodwill, obviously she doesn't!! and why would they be carrying their 2 & 5 year children's KTTW card?? Was the 2 year old really going to be using it?? Use your brain... leave it in the safe... oh, she probably didn't know she had one... safe I mean!

She definitely needed some cheese with that "whine"

Can you believe it?! It was the babysitting issue that got me the most. My grammer is not perfect but -- 'their' not 'there' food was cold. Improper use of to,too, two. If she needed a pedicure and manicure she should have ordered it the day she embarked. She makes it sound like the conceirge only showed up twice. Not that I know from experience but, isn't there a meeting with them on the first day?

Once again Jim, great minds think alike.
If I remember reading correctly it states in the brochure that if you book a suite with more than 4 people you will need to book more than 1 room at the resorts.
Some people are never satisified.

You just have to feel sorry for people like that. They are so miserable with their lives that nothing can make them happy.:(

There were soem ppl like that on our cruise also..... an older man and his wife and their son and family....

We were in PC and sitting right where you walk in and in the middle of our wonderful dinner.... the Head Server and this other man were not getting along. Then he walked by and sat them at a no-show table next to us and we heard him say to his wife......

...... I thought we got first come first serve on tables! I cannot believe they would sit us all they way back there! I booked this cruise more than a year ago and we should have got a better table than that!.....

Can you believe that!?! I was just happy to be on the cruise.... much less complain while I'm on one!!

I've got to feel sorry for the little kids in this family. Imagine living with that.

I've got family like this. Nothing is ever RIGHT and SOMEONE must fix it or give them a lot of money off to make them happy. They are always complaining about something or other (contractors, neighbors, grocery store clerks, UPS drivers....you name it!)

I can't figure out how in the world they've lived in their neighborhood for about 9 years now and ALL of their neighbors are **^$$(@@#! Actually, THEY are the ((^&$##%& and all of their neighbors are reasonable, rational people.

I hope never to have to cruise with this woman who made this report or the family members I've referenced above. ;) But, shouldn't be a problem, because neither of them would EVER cruise DCL.

I love it... "jester of goodwill." More like a "jester of a person" who couldn't graciously accept a "gesture of goodwill" and expected a poor head waiter to spring for a very expensive bottle of wine, Opus One.

Sam

Let's face it, people make mistakes and Disney is human also....but I find it hard to swallow all the this family had go wrong for them.....and it is even scarier that I almost agree with AnnMorin........that is a first.....
