I know this will never happen, but when i was younger my favorite part of Horizons when you flew over New York and then in to outer space. I woudl love for EPCOT to consider showing these films on the Soarin ride if even only for a 1 day special event.

I have heard unofficial reports that Disney is working on a Florida themed film for Soarin.

They are definitely working on a new film and it will showcase more than just Florida. I would just like to see the old Horizons film for nostalgia's sake.

They showed the end-of-ride 'choose your own adventure' horizons films during the EPCOT 30th anniversary D23 event a few years ago; was pretty cool.

I would love to see that film again too. I have such wonderful memories of Horizons! I wish that Disney would at least bring the concept back.

I believe they are almost complete with filming for Soarin' Over the World (Not an official name.) The rumor is it will launch with the grand opening of Shanghai Disney and make its way to the US at the same time, or shortly after.

I love Soarin' and a new film will be brilliant!! My family so misses Horizons

I sure hope any new Soarin film will be more than just Florida: Here we glide over a flat swampy forest. Then we glide over a flat swampy forest. Then a beach. Then another flat swampy forest. Then over Disney World to wrap it up. I know...Florida IS really beautiful. But you've got to admit it is not too varied, especially from the air.

It is suppose to have have shots from all over the world. I can't wait for them to release this.

I have heard Disney has already filmed shots at the Taj Mahal, and Eiffel Tower. I'm pretty sure they were working on Pyramids in Egypt as well.

Oh, that'd be awesome, wouldn't it?

I'd love to see some kind of flight simulator ride that had varied projections in it - like, you wouldn't see the same thing each time. Obviously, it couldn't be as elaborate as Soarin', because it would be too expensive to build something where they wouldn't be sure of the same effect every time.

This is basically like the new Star Tours. Actually, I think they should go that route for Soarin' and vary the scenes randomly. Soarin' barely moves at all to begin with, so motion programming should be pretty easy.

DD worked at Soarin' and the reference they were using when talking about the new film was "global." That actually makes the most sense given the World Showcase.

But a Florida film is not necessarily that bad. If you ever have chance to watch Aerial America episodes on Smithsonian Channel I was very much wowed by some of the footage.

That might redeem an otherwise one-ride experience.
