I like to hear from some dis vets that have gone to Universal for Thanksgiving Day? Glad you did it? We will be "doing Disney" the first park of the week and Universal and IOA Wednesday and Thursday. Sound like a good plan?

Is it that you are afraid you won't like Universal? Or the crowds? I visited Universal and IOA last Turkey week. We had a great time! If you stay onsite it will save you lots of time waiting in line. My suggestion for Thanksgiving is enjoy the parks during the day and eat late! the parks were very quiet on Thanksgiving day. Mythos right in IOA serves up a nice traditional Thanksgiving dinner. For a big feast try Islands buffet at Royal Pacific Resort! The weekend was packed but with your room key it doesn't matter.

I guess I am concerned about he crowds, so, what I really would like to hear is that EVERYONE is at Disney on Thanksgiving and it will be less crowed at Universal. We will be taking staying on-site a Disney and not Universal. We are not seasoned travelers in the Orlando area. I really have benefited from reading the different threads.

Wednesday & Thursday will be your least busiest days out of the rest of the week. You're probably smart to do disney Monday & Tuesday. Turkey day was a bit quieter but like any holiday week (just like at WDW) it's busy.

Sorry, this may not be a popular reply...but, I wouldn't go to US at all!!! We are never happy when we go! It just can't compare to Disney, and we end up feeling like we've wasted a day on a substandard park. JMHO...

I am one of Disney's biggest fans and even I go to Universal. Do you have children??? My kids (ages 10, 15 & 16) are starting to "out-grow" some of Disney's attractions and now are enjoying Universals Parks more than Disney's. If I can go to Universal any one can.... and CPM can vouch for that !!!!!!!:)

Since my daughter was 12 or 13, she has really preferred Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. I love both places, but she'll pick US/IOA in a heartbeat. My DH likes both places fine, but probably leans toward US/IOA.

I think you'll have a good time. There are a few people who don't like US/IOA, just like there are some who don't care for Disney (which is also hard for me to imagine). Just like anything else, people's opinions vary.
