I have a couple of questions for ya'll as I'm nearing my 180 mark for ADRs.

1. Park Hopping- Is it worth it?
My parents will be joining us on our adventure. My mom will be using an ECV. My husband has disautonomia and tires easily-but he'll be on foot. I will also have my 2 children- 3.5 and 6.5 at the time. I'm narrowing down my ADRs so it looks like we'll be eating at one park each day. Do I need to bother with the park hopper option? Do you think park hopping will be too much for my tribe? We are staying at AKL, and I've read reports about avoiding the parks with EMHs, so does this defeat the purpose of going from place to place in one day?

2. Food allergy-MSG?
My father is severely allergic to MSG. IS WDW MSG free? Or is this something I need to ask about at each restaurant.? Or am I suppose to make a note of this when making ADRs?

Thanks for all your imput and helping this first timer plan our trip :hippie:

We don't hop. Its too exhausting for our daughter.... and too much walking for the rest of us. We do 1 park per day. We don't waste the money to hop.... However, its personal prefrence.

As for MSG I have no idea. I would have them make a note on all ADRs. We do this with our daughters chair as well.

I hope you have an amazing trip!

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

I would suggest you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Post #3 gives a lot of information and links about dietary situations.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.

A lot about hopping depends on if you are using a car or Disney transportation. With an ECV probably Disney Transport is easier for hopping, as if you have a car you have to disassemble and reassemble the ECV each time at the car.

When I used to come down from Virginia we would go to the Early Entry park for a few hours, until it started crowding up, then go somewhere for a late breakfast, and then to another par for the rest of the day.

It really is all a matter of preference.

Moim is sensitive to MSG but not had problems for years. When you make the ADR state that he is no MSG. As for counter service there is a book at each restaurant for you to check. You can go to FAQs and find the email address for people with special diets and write them for a list of foods with MSG.

Thanks for all your imput! Now I know where to go for the MSG question. As for hopping, I'm going to have to sit down with the family and decide on that.

Have a great day :D

about hoppers - remember that you can add this option to your base tickets once at WDW. If you are not sure, buy base tickets and see how it goes. If you buy the park hopper option in advance but don't end up using it, there is no refund. The charge is $45 plus tax per person.

I always say there are two kinds of Disney people:

Park Hoppers and Park Ploppers.

We plop ourselves in a park for the day. We don't go back to the hotel or anything during the day. If you think that you would end up going back to the hotel during the day, then maybe hopping might be an option as you can go back to a different park. If you think you will just stay at a park, I personally don't see the use. But I agree with the poster above...don't buy them now and see how it goes. You can always add them later.

We are definately Hoppers. We go to one park in the morning, return to the resort during the heat of the day, then head to another park in the late afternoon. Since our home base is usually at the Boardwalk Villas, this is rather easy, as we hop a bus in the AM, and usually head to Epcot or sometimes DHS in the evening. We have always found having the ability to park-hop very useful.

Another advantage is that if you get to a park and find to overly crowded, you can bail-out and head to a different, less crowded park.

As for the cost, for a longer trip (5 days or more), it evens out a bit more. Remember, it's $45 to add hopping to your ticket whether it's 1 day or 10.

Hopping is worth it for us; your milage may vary...
