I'm considering park hoppers for our 10 night trip. I think I like the idea of having all of our options open. I'm not changing our park days (I'm very happy with our existing ADRs and FP s).

Anyone thinking of adding hoppers in response to changing park hours?

No way. It would cost us a fortune to switch all 7of us to hoppers, and my guess is this is exactly what they want all of us that plan so far ahead to do. I have 10 prime ADRs and I can't switch them and refuse to pay more because they changed them. We are leaving our plans as is.

Personally I couldn't go without hopping but we have AP's so hopping is included.

If you're not sure about adding hoppes, you don't have to do it until you're there. Just add it once you're sure you're going to use it. It's a flat cost for the ticket so it wont save you money. However if you're not sure you will use it, it will save you money if you never end up hopping.

I'll be waiting until we are there and since there are just 2 of us it won't be crazy expensive. Plus we'll be there for 10 nights so we'll have many opportunities to hop.

I'm a little concerned we'll be tempted to push ourselves too hard and not get enough rest, though. DS is 9.

We won't really be able to take advantage of a.m. EMHs since we plan to be at RD at another park each day. Perhaps it's best that we not stay at MK until 1 a.m.

Wait until you are there and confirm that you do indeed plan to hop. When it comes down to it, we usually end up too tired to do some of the extra stuff I dreamed about and I'm usually happy I didn't commit on the extra cost.

And honestly, I'd have a hard time rewarding Disney with more dollars for making last minute changes like this.

We are AP holders now, but we have always had hoppers in the past. I love the flexibility it gives. We do RP at the morning EMH park then "hop" to the most recommended park of the day. I think you will love the options that the park hopper will give you. You never feel "stuck".

I always have park hopper on our tickets, I like the flexibility and being able to RD, go back to resort to swim/nap in the afternoon and the back to the parks for fireworks etc.

Just to be clear, if you did the above at the SAME park in one day, no "Hopper" would be needed.

The "Hopper" is just required to start the day at one park, exit, and end the day at a different park.
