(Yes, I'm sneaking some DIS in -- shhh!
)
We were supposed to have our final walkthrough on the house today, but they're having to push it to tomorrow instead. They're re-doing the part of the roof that needed to be redone and didn't quite have it finished this morning for our walk-through. I know they weren't far from finishing because I drove by last night and saw what they were doing, but hopefully they'll have it done in time for a walk-through tomorrow morning.
I hope this doesn't push closing too far. On one hand it would be nice if it were pushed to the first week of Sept, but then we pay a *lot* more in taxes (well, compared to the taxes or interest or whatever it is we're paying by closing on Thursday), but we'd have DH's paycheck deposited by then. But, we also wouldn't get the nice 3-day weekend to get things done on the house (like fumigating and putting up some railing around a plant ledge I don't want the cats falling off of) and go shopping for a new couch (since they have all those one year no-payments no-interest financing for Labor Day weekend -- yes, we have to pay it off before the year is up, but we can do that on one couch
).
All in all, I'd rather still close either Thursday or Friday... cross your fingers that having to push the walk-through back a day doesn't push closing too far if at all?
