Hopefully not-so-dumb GAD question

We have an upcoming 3 night stay and have added 3 day base tickets to our reservation. We also have GAD vouchers . . .if we were to go to Epcot and use our base tickets on one day, would we be able to then turn in our GAD vouchers at, say, MK later that day and use those for entrance? I remember seeing something about getting there by 11 if you are turning them in for fastpasses, but I wasn't sure about there being a certain "time" for just turning them in for tickets for the day. Also, I assume these would be separate from my resort ID/tickets, correct?

Yes, you can do this, and it will be a completely separate 1-day base ticket...but it isn't a very good use of the ticket. THe ticket has a base value of $79, and what you are wanting to do is Park Hop - Park Hopping costs just $52, and would be good for every day of your existing ticket, as opposed to what you are asking, which is a one shot deal.

Are you required to have tickets as part of your package (i.e. dining package, etc.)? If not, you'd be better off dropping the tickets from the package, and then take the GAD voucher the first day, get the ticket, and upgrade that to the ticket you need (3-day park hopper). The price you'd pay out of pocket would be $192+tax. The gate price for the 3-day base ticket in your package is $219+tax (you may or may not be paying that depending on how they account any discounts on your package).
