Looking at the NOAA storm predictions for today, and remembering the horrible tragedies in Joplin and other towns last spring. If you hear a tornado siren today, please take caution for you and your family.

I'm hoping that the weather predictions are being way over blown. However, we're definitely watching the weather a little closer today.

My goodness, here in Oklahoma they have us as freaked out as possible. Right now the sky doesn't look bad, but you can just feel 'something' in the air.

So far nothing in the Kansas City area. Other than the 20 degree drop in temperature from this morning which usually proceeds activity of some sort!

They have been freaking us out here in Nebraska also. They cancelled the Nebraska spring game for the first time since the 1950s. Schools are ready to cancel proms too. Just heavy rains and some thunder here in Omaha so far.

Well, it was a long night but all is safe here in my town. Sirens went off 3 separate times, each time the tornado/tornados went around us or lifted and then set back down again on the other side of town. Other areas were not so fortunate.

A couple towns not too far from where I live got hit pretty hard by tornadoes. Creston, Iowa and Thurman, Iowa were both hit late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Luckily no one was killed, but there are a few injuries and some major damage to both towns. Please keep these communities in your thoughts and prayers.

My best friend from high school's family lives in Creston. I haven't heard from her about whether any of their homes were damaged, but my heart just goes out to everyone. It's so heartbreaking to see a disaster like this hit so close to home. Really makes you appreciate what you have a lot more.
