After recent posts by people frustrated with their cable/satellite service, I thought I would share a happy story.

I have been a Directv customer for 16 years. When we moved 3 years ago, we cancelled and opened a new account in my husband's name to get the promo rate for a year. After the year, the price jumped as expected and I called and got a $10 per month discount for another year. That discount ended a while back.

Back when we signed up, we were told we would have free HD for life if we used auto bill pay, which we have. That was a discount of $10. This month our money is really tight and I was looking at how I can cut back. Baseball season is over for our local MLB team so I was going to cut back on our package. I was looking at our statement and noticed we were being charged for HD. So I called. The girl I talked to looked things over and reinstated the discount. I was somewhat satisfied with that. Well, today I got a call form Dtv. A rep was calling to tell me he looked over our account and realized we missed out on our discount for 14 months, so he gave us a $140 credit! Needless to say, I am thrilled! It will pay this month's bill and part of next month's!

While I think all cable/satellite has become ridiculously priced, I have always been satisfied with my Directv service. Their customer service is a bit better than some as well. I'm glad to be able to share a positive story.:thumbsup2

We had DirectTv once. Every time we had a bad storm, we would lose the signal.

We have had Comcast for years now with no problems for cable and Internet.

Eh, every now and then we lose the signal briefly when there is a really heavy rain, but doesn't happen that often. We can live without the tv for a few minutes. Doesn't compare to the horror stories around here with TW cable, etc.

Agreed! We had way more picture, losing tv, problems with cable, than we do with Direct TV.

Both Dish and DirecTv are going to be subject to rain fade in very heavy rain.

We get more complaints from viewers who are Comcast subscribers, followed by DirecTv. All the rest seem even but are further down the complaint list.
